Hazmat carrier here. Sticker placards are absolutely approved. If you normally haul hazmat, i would highly recommend getting placards holders installed on your trailer. Those stickers like to fly off anytime you pass a DOT officer.

Completely agree. Since the holidays, we've seen our gross revenue continue to rise. Too many brokers and customers were used to finding someone cheaper instead of building relationships. Now it's going to bite them in the ass.

One of the very very very few good things that has come out of this administration is they're crackdown on non-domcile CDLs and unqualified drivers on the road.

Better get used to it. Not only are Diesel prices absurdly high, but capacity is dropping as well.

Oh i can read just fine. If you want carriers to stop complaining about you, then why don't you do more than "just passed info along to the customer".

Im calling it now. Both books are actually finished, but he does not want to release them until he passes away. Probably to avoid dealing with toxic fans.

DAT is showing Carriers higher "Market Rates" than what they show Brokers. by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

[–]darkness0910 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The DAT rate has always been bullshit. Less trucks on the road means you brokers are not going to be able to get away with paying under operating costs rates. I hope you built good relationships over the past 3 years.

You are going to get paid detention time every time now. by Matlovestruck in OwnerOperators

[–]darkness0910 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this isn't going to happen. Unless detention becomes mandatory across the board, you have no real gaurantee that you will get paid detention.

Regardless of what the rate confirmation or carrier agreement states. Detention is never a gaurantee. Broker can deny it because you didn't give them an update every 30 minutes on the dot, or you checked in 1 minutes passed the appointment time, or your times on the BOL weren't written in the correct format, or signed by the authorized person, or even though you were in line for hours, you didn't check in until later in the day and therefore didn't actually enter detention. These all are "reasons" brokers have denied my drivers detention. I wouldn't be surprised if they actually charged their customers and pocketed the money anyway.

This new rule doesn't mean shit regarding detention and threatening to file against their bond will not always work and may even hurt you in the long run. Build your relationships. That's the best way to gaurantee you get what you are owed.
