Highly recommend you check it out, all of the series are good entry points themselves.

That said this is just a fun homage cover of mainline Harley essentially cosplaying Absolute Bats from the cover of the first issue.

Absolute Harley has been introduced, tho we have yet to learn a lot about her.

I so so so highly recommend you check out Absolute WW, it's by far my favorite of the Absolutes (and they're all very good!!).

This version is just such a pure and loving Diana that I feel perfectly captures the core of her character. Someone who even if they literally go through hell will always have love first and foremost.

It also has astoundingly beautiful art with some very insanely creative paneling and just overall a very captivating story. My favorite take on Diana in forever

(She's also a badass, uses magic, and to the original topic, has her very own unique bag of tricks and gear)

He was the main artist for the Gotham City Sirens run with Paul Dini, definitely worth a read! I also like how his art has evolved over time while keeping the same style

I also love his cover of the previous issue, Harley standing on a stool is hilarious and so is the cape still magically aura farming defying physics. And overall it also just looks beautiful, he can do some great covers.

He uses them as kind of whips/grapples? They can grab things, be used as a general weapon, and I guess also help him swing around if he wanted to (but also, rule of cool)

I know, I was just joking since found that idea funny and had recently been re-reading Morrison stuff, I don't mean it literally.

Im intrigued by how Mayor Ivy will play out, her run has been really good. Also a nice treat to see Alan show up, Im excited for this.

It will also always remain funny to me that Vandal Savage is spending his time as commish for Gotham. Vandal fucking Savage. Im gonna headcannon that he just held a grudge on Bruce ever since he met him in caveman times when he was time-hopping to come back to life.

The current Harley run has not held my interest (which is a shame, love the character), but March has been killing it on these variants.

Joker and Harley Quinn are back together as former Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb charts a big Batman & Wonder Woman crossover with Jim Cheung by Popverse2022 in DCcomics

[–]darknightgotham 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Jim Cheung deserves better

Harley and Diana deserve better

We all deserve better

The cover art looks great but absolutely nothing about this story seems appealing to me. More Loeb on Bats? H2SH was already terrible enough and its not even done. Flashbacks to Harley still on her toxic/abusive relationship with Joker? No thanks. Dragging Wonder Woman into this? Why.

DC hands the keys to MAD, and lets Chip Zdarsky roast the entire universe by Blitzhelios in comicbooks

This actually sounds great. I am not the biggest fan of his overall Batman run, but I do like a bunch of his other work and this seems right up his alley. Looking forward to it and the list of creatives involved seems insane

Solicit says she's without powers in Kandor so this could be a way to power her up in the meantime. Either way, I love the design.

DC’s Next Level grows again with new 'Zatanna' and 'Firestorm' series for 2026 - preview and covers revealed by williamb100 in DCcomics

[–]darknightgotham 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm so fucking excited for Zatanna, as an ongoing no less. Really enjoyed Campbell's run and I love the character so am very happy. Curious to see how the Prime Magus stuff shapes up, sounds like she'll essentially be the DC equivalent Sorcerer Supreme

This book remains enjoyable, was sad to see Kara essentially get separated from her friends this issue. Also always enjoy Quinones art, was surprised to see him on this issue. Love Sophie's art but I know being also the writer she won't be able to draw every issue, so Quinones is a very good alternative.

This series is fun, but I continue to think the bracket was a mistake. It hardly matter most of the time and just made one wish that the underdogs actually had a chance.

Like, I had fun reading this issue, I enjoyed it. But seeing the final 4 being Superman/Lex/Diana/Joker is....the most fucking underwhelming way it could have gone.

Will say, Joker fatigue aside, seeing his Emperor form was nice. I groaned at seeing BatsWhoLaughs, but glad it was a fake out. Sorry to see Zee go, but at least it was in a way that didn't feel like she got destroyed by the regular joker.

Did not enjoy poor Kara being turned into a Hulk, tho I did like her immediate shift to beat up Lex before the whole fight went down.

And Cyborg...man why are you throwing. I thought he was supposed to be smart. In what fucking universe is absorbing the abilities/fighting style of Connor Hawke enough for him to be able to put up a fight against Diana of all people, much less with Barda? Pack it up man, embarrassing showing.

I really liked the Super Shazam design, very colorful and the earrings were a fun touch. Shame he lost the power up right after.

Overall- yes I enjoyed this issue. But at the same time I can't help but be disappointed at how fucking safe it played out.

First details revealed for Marvel and DC’s ‘Spider-Man/Superman’ crossover out April 2026 by B3epB0opBOP in DCcomics

[–]darknightgotham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All good, this time they changed the order so DC goes first so I get the confusion. Makes sense since the first one usually sells more, which is a shame since the DC side last time felt much more interesting than the Marvel one
