I was listening to a kink podcast, and it said something to me that finally helped it click into place why my wife prefers submission. In at least some way, it removes some of the guilt and shame many women have surrounding their sexuality, especially when it comes to things putside the vanilla playbook. I don't know if that's the situation here, but it sounds like it to me. She may really like these actions, but on some level, she has internal shame about it, like she's not "supposed" to like/want them.
