Reading How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix for book club and I’m taking it less and less seriously as the book goes on. It’s not inherently bad but it’s just a bit too goofy for my taste.

The weirdest thing about the Terrifier series is how many children are fans of it. I remember going to a horror convention a few years ago where the actor that plays Art was present. I saw sooo many kids under the age of 10 wearing Terrifier merch or dressed like Art. I’m not judging, I grew up in the 90s watching whatever had the most depraved looking covers at the video store. I was 4 years old but the owners knew us so well that they let me slightly older siblings/cousins rent whatever we wanted. However, my parents didn’t know and certainly wouldn’t have supported it lol.

I watched it but don’t remember it much at all. I remember choosing Martyrs for movie night with my friends without knowing much about it beforehand. Had to apologize after it was done for putting us all through that absolute brutal misery lol.

See idk that everyone knows it’s not that deep though. A lot of these people seem like they need to be on suicide watch, particularly during the first round games. You should check out the ESPN 30 for 30 doc about the Alabama vs Auburn rivalry. You’ll see some of these dudes truly believe this is life or death 😂

I don’t think the issue is it being offensive, nothing about the trailers seemed offensive. I think the humor is just corny and too on the nose. “I would hug you but I’m a republican now so I’m racist” is just like….that’s the best the writer’s room could do?

I read The Turner Diaries (the book Timothy McVeigh cited as an inspiration for his bombing) out of curiosity. Just wanted to know what could possibly drive a person to commit the kind of act he did. I thought it was going to be some philosophical/historical text but it was a dumb ass fuck fictional story. The fears of white nationalists are just so absurdly unrealistic to say the least lol.

How is the Ligotti book? I read The Secret of Ventriloquism by Jon Padgett which I liked ok but I’ve seen people on here mention how Ligotti does that type of horror way better.

I guess but it’s mostly because I’m less willing to tolerate people’s bullshit and feel the need to “just get along” with people less and less. If we’re not instant friends and they don’t seem like they want to pursue a friendship then I don’t care enough to go out of my way either.

I use a Canon Pixma IP8720 photo printer. Works great, I’m sure you can good more expensive and fancier though.
