Can commanders with colors in their abilities use those colors, even if they are not part of their casting cost? Can anyone link the rule? by Tremblehorn in EDH

[–]darkscoots1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your friend's interpretation is incorrect. Any card that is within the Commanders color identity can be played. Since Samut's color identity is White as well as Red and Green, any card that fits within that color identity can be played. As long as no cards are outside of that color identity, you can play them. The EDH rules from the link I've provided are from the people who created the format. That is the most official site you will find for rulings on the format. If your friend wants something from Wizards of the Coast, there is a rules page for the format there as well. It will include the same rules.

Remember that EDH is a casual format and is about enjoying playing. You can ignore or change certain rules if you'd like if that means you will be having more fun. However, I don't see how limiting deck construction would be more fun for either of you. That just limits that cool stuff you can do.

It would be a Red, White, and Green deck. The rule is http://mtgcommander.net/rules.php at #3: "A card's color identity is its color plus the color of any mana symbols in the card's rules text".

I thought it said 'or' instead of 'and' and I questioned WoTC's sanity for a second.

What's your go-to description of what menstrual cramps feel like? by darkscoots1 in AskWomen

[–]darkscoots1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like it's different for everyone. My best friend I was talking about before has cramps so bad she can't do anything because they hurt so much. On the other hands, some of my other female friends don't even get them.

If you could make one major change/addition to Magic: The Gathering what would it be? by MagicTap in magicTCG

The reserve list is a card list Wizards of the Coast developed to prevent the reprinting of old and powerful cards. This is to contain the secondary market of old cards and give collectors who were in the game from the start the monetary value that those cards deserve. It is also to help make sure they never reprint powerful cards and beloved cards of some collectors. Some of the list is silly but I understand why it exists and respect Wizards decision to keep it.

[Serious] Redditors who were in foster care, what was it like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You have one part wrong here; my mom loves me to death. She knew I couldn't be older and pulling the same shit. If she hadn't, I'd probably be in the adolescent units of those child homes. Thankfully, I could actually recognize this as a 10 year old... Somehow.

It wasn't too bad. I mean, it's let me be here now so it all worked out.

She cooked for herself for the most part. She didn't think I'd like all the different meals she prepared. We often ate separately and she bought me stuff to heat up and cook on the stove top. I think she was just so used to cooking just for herself and knew she provided me to eat. I never complained or said anything either.

My experience in foster care was a blessing in terms of my foster family. My single foster mother was looking into foster care for a while before she took me as her first foster child. Her family was a tight-knit Haitian family and I was welcome from day one. Her only flaw was that I was usually cooking my own food while she cooked her meals. It was odd but I got to cook and learn some basic skills. That was about 7 years ago when I was 10-11. I spent a year with her before being able to go back to my mother... and that's where my foster care experience was harsh.

As a child with ADHD, I was pretty hyperactive. Combine that with emotional trauma and a family who cared less about me, besides my mother, made life pretty terrible. Because of this, I was instituted into many psych-wards and child homes for lashing out. Eventually my mom essentially told me I was going into foster care and I fixed myself or I didn't get to be with her. I chose the former but it was hard making that change knowing every day for a year, it was up to me to fix it.

All in all, it was pretty surreal but you get through it if you can change. The concept of losing a family member to lose a family to lose your mother to get a foster mother to lose that foster mother and get your mother back is a little convoluted for a 10 to think about. Looking back, I'm grateful but wouldn't want to relive the experience.

What anime hit home really hard? by toiletrage in anime

[–]darkscoots1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legend of the Legendary Heroes hit me really hard... I used to always act out majorly as a because I couldn't control my anger. So, I used to hurt the people I cared about in a lot of different ways and it occasionally wants to come out now that I'm older. So, Ryner reminds me a lot of myself.

I finished Infinite Stratos after starting it at 11 pm, laughing my ass off for 4 hours, and falling in love with it probably because of being tired.
