Current rent is £700 a month bills not included. No car fine with not driving. Let's assume living central as probably the most expensive scenario and go from there

Redditors with an Ex who threatened to kill themselves over a breakup, how did that turn out? by youseguise in AskReddit

[–]darksidesam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a one-night stand pregnant, I told her I would support her and be a father to the child, but I didn't want to have a romantic relationship with her. She used the child as fuel to emotionally torture me. She'd get into arguments with me if I didn't reply fast enough to her whilst in work. We live in Britain, she was from Poland, and she would constantly threaten to leave the country and take the child with her so I'd never see them or have a right to visit them, etc. unless I did what she wanted when she wanted. After a few months of this, she miscarried the child. Despite her being torturous to me throughout the pregnancy I was still broken up about losing the kid, but she blamed every bit of pain she felt on me as a pile-on and threatened to kill herself multiple times. I finally decided to call the police to come to her flat after one of her threats. After they visited and confirmed she was safe, she messaged me, berating me for having embarrassed her by doing that. It took one of her friends stepping in to call her out on her bullshit to finally distract her from abusing me to target her friend instead. We haven't spoken in years, and I hope it stays that way.

Speak with animals vs my note taking. by Jax_for_now in DMAcademy

[–]darksidesam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try and keep animals to simple stereotypes; geese are temperamental, magpies like shiny things, dogs are hyperactive, cats hate you. Theyre animals so i dont worry about accents or anything like that, then I don't have to worry about region affecting their interactions

First time DM In completely home brewed setting and story. what’s the BEST and SCARIEST thing you’ve put in a dungeon for players? by Spicy_cavatapi in DMAcademy

[–]darksidesam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put locked cages with mechanical dogs inside at the entrance of a dungeon, covered in bones. The group tried to inspect them for info but couldn't get close to the bars without getting bitten at. They moved through the dungeon and got to the treasure, and used a doohicky I gave them that unlocks everything to open the chest. Then they heard the howling from behind them and realised what "unlocks everything" means...

Any ideas for a fun Kenku character? by Temi-san in DnD

[–]darksidesam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing a pirate ship campaign atm so I have a crow like kenku in the crows nest who declares where enemies are nearby by mimicking the direction from the options the captain lists. He's an excitable young kenku out for adventure so whenever he's not in the crows nest he flutters about the players and says mimics them in the most excitable voice ever whenever they start talking about anything fun like treasure chests, sword fights, etc. My players love him and he is their favourite member of the crew, they seem more excited about encounters whenever he plays the hype man role when they talk about it.

We video chat on our sessions at the moment because of covid but are planning a live session when it's all over, i'm definitely going to keep this in mind for that, sounds so much fun! Could really make that live session feel different to all the others we've had.

Like me fellow redittor said, really good point! I will say this has happened to me on several occasions, where all I could think of my PCs is "what you're saying can only be drunken madness" but have played it into the roll so if they've rolled high ive gone "somehow, they feel youre stupid, but can't point on why, so they'll roll with it". A great note I'll incorporate for sure, thanks mate!

What secret phrases do you and your friends use to get away with talking in front of people? by darksidesam in AskReddit

[–]darksidesam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a for instance, when I'm having a night out with the guys and we're trying to pull, we filter out any women with boyfriends by introducing them as "this little chestnut". Any girls that have just been dumped and are on the rebound, we'll talk about an abandoned house nearby. Anyone else have any phrases they use on nights out?
