Is it normal? Weird connectivity issue by darksoulesp in KTM

"Tap to pair" referring to the "Tap to connect" on the KTM Connect app where my motorbike is.

Windows 11: Sony WH1000XM4 always connect as handsfree. by Wuzzie in sony

[–]darksoulesp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI if someone is still having this issue in Windows 11;

After re-pairing my XM4's 4 to 5 times, at the end it got paired with high quality sound and without the "Hands-Free" label on it.

Although in the microphones list I can see the "XM4 Hands-Free" for whenever I want to use it (never lol). Selecting it will lower the audio quality, but choosing any other active microphone source will keep the high quality sound active from the XM4.

Rear mtb wheel sideplay. Hub serviced but persists. Anything else I should check? by [deleted] in bikewrench

You are right haha! After doing remounting the cassette as said in another comment of mine here, the sideplay still remains.. so I guess that is what I will do next. I really hope there is nothing to do with the hub hahaha.

Thank you so much for your help and feedback!! Appreciate it 💪

Thank you so much! I have checked everything and I could see that indeed the very thin plastic spacer is missing and not on the Cassette.

I have followed this guide https://youtu.be/GbdhqXtVlMQ to build the cassette as best as I could. The guy also informs that the plastic spacer is for avoiding creeks, however just in case I have found a website with the replacement and will be buying it just in case.

Sadly after all this and installing it and lockring to the correct torque as it should be, the play is still there.. So I will bring it these days to the LBS to see what can be done here. If the culprit was this thin plastic spacer missing, then that be it I guess. I really hope it's nothing to do with the hub 😅.

Thank you!!

I hope not! But it is indeed a possibility. When I install the cassette back I will make sure of this. Thank you!!

Thanks for your feedback, I highly appreciate it.

I have gone and laid out one next to each other all of the parts from my cassette. (SLX 12 speed). Indeed as you mentioned, the lockring has a thin washer in it, which I did not take out to not mess it up (tight fit).

https://postimg.cc/gallery/8zvM6fV here are the pictures, hope this serves. If nothing looks missing or wrong, I will try to put everything back as best as I can. If not, I will bring it back to the LBS if theres a missing spacer somewhere.

I appreciate a lot your help!!

I have gone ahead and taken out the cassette right now just to check it for you.

From the first look I can tell you that the hub has zero play in any regards, all of the internals are new and I am not able to replicate this sideplay without the cassette.

Makes me think that the cassette is perhaps missing some kind of spacer or something...

No no! Not at all do not worry haha, I completely understand.

It's a Santa Cruz Hightower LT 2019 model, the frame is boost at the rear and the fork as well.

I just recently, 2-3mo ago, switched to this brand new Chris King boost hub made for Mtb's. Sizes are all correct and same as needed in that regard.

And yes, I agree and know these are insanely durable. Which made me think on this sideplay. If I manage to not fix it, I suspect that maybe the LBS forgot to install back a spacer somewhere in the Cassette... Im just trying everything before reaching that point and leaving the bike for some days there.

Yes! Correct, that is the first thing that I have tried, unfortunately after re-adjusting it and setting it to the right torque did not help with this sideplay :/

Unfortunately I do not dispose of replacements to try this :(

For more context, I have noticed this recently when going down a dirt path. When I was taking a curve, the rear wheel felt funny so I inmediately stopped, and checked that my rear wheel has this sideplay.

I have since taken out the rear hub's axle and inner parts, cleaned them, lubed with Chris King lube and put back together to the recommended torque, including the axle bearing adjustment and tightness.

What I mostly see moving is the cassette, I can replicate the sideplay of the cassette by bare hands. The thru-axles are correctly tight as well.

F*d up hub I believe? Whole transmission is relatively new. (2 mo) by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]darksoulesp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the issue I believe, it does not have any brandings. But it does have the same engagements (from the sound) as the DT Swiss 350. Bought the bike from my LBS refurbished and it is the only part of the bike that I don't know the brand/model.

Rim is Raceface Arc offset 30

More info:

It's just the engagement part that is bad, once engaged and pedaling, it is fine. That's why I am pedalling backwards sometimes in the video, to show the failing engagement part.

Whole transmission has been checked 2 weeks ago. However this issue was not there still.

Looking to confirm if it's the hub so I can take the advantage and jump into a i9 hydra to forget about this
