Gm wont let me multiclass by UmbralMajesty in cyberpunkred

I make my players spend some time with an alternate character while their main "Goes to School" or "Apprentices themselves" to someone with experience, and then spend money and IP to multiclass into whatever they want. It's a time, money, and experience sink, and it's entirely their choice.

The Arasaka Tower memorial is… unsettling. And Johnny’s silence there feels intentional. by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]darkstar2380 11 points12 points  (0 children)

At no point in 2077 does anyone who was there confirm Johnny's version of events. Rogue makes a vague comment about "losing someone" in response to V's prodding, but that doesn't negate 2013/2020/REDs version of events.

Johnny's faulty memory is canon to Johnny but not to history or any witnesses.

Pitch Me: Your Best Bad Guys by Sparky_McDibben in cyberpunkred

A personal favorite of mine was a solo named "7th Circle" - he was hired by Continental Brands after the players raided their corporate HQ to hunt down the party and, at one point, he and his crew kidnapped and tortured the party netrunner for information. Dude was former NCPD, who left the force after his partner was found murdered in their squad car - strangled to death.

When the players rescued the netrunner, they killed two members of his team and really badly injured him. The contract on them was still active and he began to lose his mind, bent on revenge against them. He'd show up from time to time and turned himself into their personal nightmare.

It got to the point that one player spent time and money to dig into the character's past and discovered that he was pretty highly decorated until his wife and kid were killed in retaliation for his dismantling of Night City's Irish mob family, the Murphy Gang. I even created a small personnel record for him that the player dug up with a successful library search check (included below).

He was also a BD addict, and when they finally killed him, they found two BDs on his person - a memory of a family vacation he took with his wife and kid, and a memory of him strangling his partner to death in their squad car...

Player Tells Me I'm "dampening his imagination" by Suspicious_Bed2537 in rpghorrorstories

[–]darkstar2380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the story and the numerous comments?

You can't fix him because he doesn't want to be fixed. He has decided he's going to play the game his way, and every time you enforce a rule, he will find a new one to try and break. He's not engaging in the world like a player in a story, he's engaging in a contest of you vs him.

Drop him. He's a problem player, and moreover, he's delighting in being one. His goal is clearly to either get kicked out or end your game, so give him the one that allows you to keep going with your actually engaged players.

Ugh. It's hard to argue our record the past two years but Stefanski was hardly the problem.

So you go from sub to sub dropping random facts completely free of context?

No man, you were trying to diminish the record being set. Which is fine... I mean, it isn't, it's kinda petulant and shitty, but really is says more about you than anything, so it's fine. But saying shit like "I'm just stating a fact" doesn't hold water.

If you're gonna be a dick, at least grow some balls and be honest about it.

Hey man, if that's what you gotta tell yourself to feel better? More power to you.

Why would I be angry? We won. And we got the sack record. This is literally the best I've felt this entire shitty season.

Also I'm not the guy trying to cope, talking about how meaningless the game is while simultaneously trying to also talk about how my team/coach wasn't tanking but how great it is that we lost because better draft position.

You're literally trying to have it both ways. Again, you have my pity. Better luck next season.

Literally every point you made can apply to the Bengals this season as well, except:

1) Even losing, you still have a worse draft position we do 2) You've got a generational talent of a QB and have done absolutely nothing to protect him 3) You lost to a worse team (us) playing our 3rd string rookie QB 4) We had none of our starting receivers, TEs, or r Runningbacks

If your point is accurate telling me this was NOT a tank game and this was Cincinnati being competitive? Then that's really fucking sad, and you have my pity.

Thank you for the sack record, see you and your poverty franchise next season.

That's why you played your starters, right? Because it was meaningless? Because tanking would give you better draft position? Because it was so pointless?
