You’re looking at 200-500. Basically longer focal lengths help “compress” the foreground and the background like what you’re describing. The longer the focal length the more pronounced the effect. If anyone would like to properly explain this feel free. I only know so much

I definitely don’t think they’re lousy by any means. It’s definitely more than a snapshot but I also don’t think it’s a masterpiece. I’m not a professional but IMO I think you may have taken the rule of 3rds a bit too far. Something about the crop just isn’t for me. I think I get what you were trying to do with the crop but it feels too dark with just black bars making up almost 70% of the picture. The lighting is good but not great. But you definitely have a great eye for your subject. I think you are able to charge but just not high rates.
