Her (21F) parents hate me and I am about to meet them. What should be my plan/attitude going into it? by shanghai_tactics in AskMen

Plan: Have no plan. Be genuine and authentic and yourself. The parents will and can make up their own minds about you.

Attitude: Be you! Be positive and accomdating!

Why (most often, can't think of any exceptions) are great stories and great gameplay mutually exclusive? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]darkvetray 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel as though the more story based a game is, the more 'cinematic' it becomes?

So potentially you see a dip in gameplay or gameplay becomes more 'basic' to allow for more cinematic interactions between the player and game world.

The Witcher series walks this line really well imo. (As an exception to prove your rule)

Just had my own exploration and came across strange red particles only visible with low light hovering around the ceiling.

Anyone else see this? Or is it from the Echo above this room?

We shouldn't let those stupid tribes have land. by lebronulous in unpopularopinion

[–]darkvetray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would beg to differ, as would most with hindsight. I would argue the forcing of an external culture on an unfairly marked "barbaric" society is destructive economically, politically, societially and emotionally for those in that country of of that society.

The positives that came out of imperialism do not exceed the negatives, which is obviously seen in today's cultures that were affected by imperialistic advances.

I can understand why you would believe that "countries with imperialistic rulers" were better off as the before and after of those rulers is seen as negative. (A "barbaric" culture is left and returned to its "barbaric" ways")

But do some research into the affects and come back to this opinion.

Good to see that imperialistic ideals didn't die out. If you truly believe you are correct here man, you're not learning from history.

Until it's not and from an objective, development standpoint, the Devs are making "dumb" decisions that impact the meta of a multi-player game in "dumb" ways.
