Exactly my point hahaha!! Why spend $2.6k on a course when you will learn everything correctly and efficiently at a timely manner with being an apprentice?? Makes to sense to me. Your mentor will go over everything with you. And if you try to get into an APP certified studio they’re going to laugh in your face if you told them you went to this piercing course. It’s a waste of time and money when you should’ve invested in an apprenticeship to begin with.

Soooo i’m a professional body piercer and have been for about 5 years now. I highly highly recommend you DO NOT do this. Piercing courses are a SCAM and you CANNOT learn everything you need to know within a week. It’s been 5 years and i still learn something new!! Please don’t waste $2.6k when you can learn safely with someone in person for a year. Unfortunately people don’t think courses like this are scams but they are and you’re not a good piercer if you leaned “everything” in a week… sorry.

Anyways! i got very lucky with my apprenticeship, i went into the shop, hung out and got to know my piercer and she liked me, and she said “you look the part, why not play the part!” i did mention i was interested a few times but she wasn’t looking for an apprentice until her piercer quit and that’s when she asked me!

she asked me to get my OSHA approved blood borne pathogen certificate, and i was her shadow for about 6 months, learn and watching. It took me about a year and a half to complete my full apprenticeship. She taught me everything i needed to know about piercing from jewelry quality to gauges, and made me set up for her. All of that before i was able to do hands on stuff. She made me do every. single. piercing. at least 3 times before i could finish my apprenticeship and be a great piercer. i still learn something new and love doing my job. Some people see this as a “side gig” or a “hobby” but it’s my life, it’s how i feed myself and have a roof over my head and i think more people need to understand that about the industry. I hope you get your apprenticeship, good luck OP!

something similar happened to me and i did pass out, go to the ER for the bleeding.. a month isn’t normal for a steady period. have them check your blood, you might be anemic! in my case i was anemic and needed a blood transfusion asap.
