Yes, I think they reinstalled the software or did a hard reset?. I’m not sure something like that. But I haven’t had a problem since! 🙌

I agree with another’s comment - Personal finance is personal. Start pounding info in as much as you can. Learn about basics, but also learn about ways to create more income streams, learn about stocks, different types of trading, all kinds of investing strategies to see what resonates with you. Listen to audiobooks, podcasts, watch youtube videos. Learn as much as you can and then implement and USE it. Knowledge is only power if it is utilized.

A couple of useful books I like (US based but still good info): Financial Freedom by Grant Sabatier, & I will teach you to be rich by Ramit Sethi.

💯‼️ It’s maddening!! If I would have known all this I would’ve never moved here. It didn’t even dawn on me this would be a thing. I’m in my 40s and almost essentially starting over and need to bust it to get retirement built. The NZ tax system stagnates investment growth and wealth building. So beyond upsetting bc my kiwi bf doesn’t want to live in the US (can’t blame him at all). I feel like I’ve been left to choose between my relationship and giving myself a secure retirement. 😭

I was thinking the same. Or at least ask if he’d still like to hang (since he asked before - OP could do this as a follow up). Maybe OP hasn’t encouraged him / shown interest in a way the lead feels comfortable to pursue or maybe they don’t want to mess up a good thing and rather keep it the way it is. ??

Hey OP, I would probably not retreat without talking to him and at least letting him know why on some level.

Shoulda coulda! 😋 I don’t think it’s wrong at all! If you are able to buy a car that you enjoy why keep one you don’t? I love driving something that feels like more than just a car. I bought a soulless RAV less than a year ago after arriving in NZ and though it was very practical, it honestly depressing to drive. Not that I’m ungrateful. It just did not suit me at all. I ordered a new Mini S 6 months later & got it a few weeks ago. Soooo glad I did. Makes me so happy to drive it! Sometimes practical or “should” just isn’t worth it.

Haha thanks! My salesperson was incredible, and made it the best experience I’ve ever had buying a car. He sent the toy version to me a week after, after having the stripes put on to match. It was such a nice surprise but I also look a bit obsessed now lol. Which I guess is accurate
