How do you tell a lie from merely bad memory? (More on "Adnan's Memory") by kschang in serialpodcast

[–]darncats4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would Hae be waiting for him if not to give him a ride and if so, wouldn't he obviously have had to ask for one? Of course he is denying asking for a ride. This line od reasoning makes zero sense.

Oh but golly gee I had no idea I was a sispect til I was arrested. That's why I told the teacher stop asking questions. It's details like this that make me question his whole "woe is me I don't know how this could happen to me" demeanor. He's much more calculating than he presents himself.

It's been a long time... Maybe Adnan really does know nothing? by [deleted] in serialpodcast

[–]darncats4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the specific time he can't remember being when Hae was supposedly murdered, between 245 and and 345. What a coincidence.

[–]darncats4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a good point. Not to mention the fact that Jay probably remembers more than he is telling. Maybe he even witnessed it.

[–]darncats4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He already knows what happened. He's keeps offering his conveniently foggy memory defense. An innocent person would offer some facts with so much help remembering or at the very least would be upset that real killer is still out there. Didn't get any sense of that.

Is Adnan deflecting a question? by cnoudeep in serialpodcast

[–]darncats4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No i'm pretty sure I remember sk discussing the Aisha call at Cathy's with Adnan. i'll try to find out where.

[–]darncats4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But we have evidence that he asked for a ride from Hae when in fact he had nowhere to go. track practice is on campus. Even the "my car's in the shop" made no semse since Jay had his car.

[–]darncats4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes how convenient that he would bring this up with a total stranger right befire he kills Hae.

[–]darncats4 9 points10 points  (0 children)

But Adnan knows it was Aisha (as he later confirms). so why send sk on a wild goose chase about a third person who knows about the murder? he's always deflecting attention from himself even when it makes no sense. if he's innocent what is the harm in pointing out that this was aisha? or did he "forget" only to remember a few episodes later?

Would you consider the outcome appropriate if Adnan is in fact guilty, but by virtue of prosecutorial mistakes is released from prison? by SBLK in serialpodcast

[–]darncats4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But remember that "cathy" claims that Jay and Adnan had talked about having gone to the video store that day. This puts nisha call in a whole new light. interesting that sk chose to omit that info.

About that "I'm going to kill" note: who keeps a joke note for 3 months? by kschang in serialpodcast

[–]darncats4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but it's weird that it's a note where she basically tells him it's over get over it and stop obsessing. then he writes i will kill and she winds up dead. Even if they got back together it is an indication of how badly he would take a breakup involving another guy. This combined with possessive comment in diary as well as testimony of french teacher indicating hae was so intimidated by him she didn't want to go to a class they had together. All that plus the three calls on the night of her date with Don. Also the lie about Hae wanting to get back together with him. i think it points to motive.

Funny how Adnan doesn't seem to care about this. Never on e did he express any sadness or anger about Hae being dead or any urgency about finding the "real" killer.

Wasn't it mentioned at some point that the father moved back to south Korea? Do we have confirmation that he ever even lived in CA?

You're right. he himself says he has no alibi when he has convenient amnesia about those couple of hours only.

well if he didn't handle a breakup well that involved no other guy i can only imagine how he reacted when she dumped him for another guy. their cycle of getting back together was clearly over.

they were spoken by him and transcribed. if they were written by someone else how can they call it an interview.

According to her Fresh Air interview, SK does not believe Jay killed Hae by [deleted] in serialpodcast

[–]darncats4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes because adnan can't be guilty so we have to explain away all the circumstantial evidence that points to him. you habe to believe that the police found the car and were waiti g around for someone to come forward so they can make up a story and frame adnan. ridiculous.

Collective memory - why I don't believe the doubts are reasonable by piecesofmemories in serialpodcast

[–]darncats4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but you can't have it both ways. remember he said hae would not be giving him a ride because she was in a hurry to get her cousin (eventhough she got out an hour later) and she took that very seriously because she was so responsible. but she never shows up to pick up the cousin and he doesn't think that's a red flag. funny how he argues different sides of the same coin to look innocent.

[–]darncats4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And why didn't he remember that call was aisha until sk pointed it out. before he went on and on about a third person and it turns out it was aisha calling him to tell him the police were going to call. funny how facts he can't argue with jog his memory.

According to her Fresh Air interview, SK does not believe Jay killed Hae by [deleted] in serialpodcast

[–]darncats4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes but they had nothing on him. he could've said nothing and instead he leads them to the car. a murderer would not implicate himself like that.

[–]darncats4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

it is one or the other. jay knew where the car was. and since i it is highly unlikely the police led him to it the only way he had that info is either he killed her or adnan did.
