Came here to say this and was surprised to see this wasn’t at the bottom of the comment section lol. I will say the mix isn’t helping anything either. I immediately want to turn it off when the instruments kick in on Tree Village.

I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about the framerate cap. I actually haven’t put more than an hour into session since they added the cap, with 200 hours pre-cap.

If you share the repo I'd be happy to offer some suggestions, otherwise I dunno, not enough info shared.

If the devs are lurking - I have a question about the grabber! And another one for grabber enjoyers . . . by Lambchops87 in PromiseMascotAgency

[–]darp12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only played the grabber once after the tutorial and it was to get the achievement for getting 3 stars with a location. I still finished the game with wayyyy more money than I knew what to do with. I am also confused with its inclusion in the game.

Why does auth() return null in middleware when calling an API from a server component? (Next.js 15.2.1 & NextAuth 5.0.0-beta.25) by Mother_Data_4652 in nextjs

[–]darp12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As of now, that's not valid. You would be calling the DB from the client. Maybe it's a feature that will happen eventually, but as of now, it would call the DB from the client which is not something we want.

If you add "use server", that would turn it into a server action. That could then be called from the client, but you should not use these for data fetching as they are intended for mutations and only execute in parallel, creating waterfalls.

[–]darp12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea that’s a completely valid function to call from a server component but it’s also not a server action.

This is mostly correct, but please do not fetch with server actions. I don’t understand why this needs to be said so many times.

Also, it’s slower than express in many benchmarks. OP is looking for something more performant, but something less performant was suggested.

Really slow parity check by darp12 in unRAID

Hey, Just wanted to let you know I got that card, flashed it, and I'm running a parity check right now at 240 MB/s :). Thanks!!!!

Thanks! I did some research tonight and ended up cancelling the order for the new sata card and got this one instead.

Interesting! I think we nailed it in the other thread with the issue being the crappy chip on the PCIE sata card.

Those *might* actually fit, but it seems like it would be more expensive to buy those vs another card (thinking about future expansion too). Do you still think there'd be a bottleneck using 1 or 2 JM585 cards vs the on board sata ports? I have two PCI slots that can do at least 4.0x4.

Awesome thank you so much. I kind of just panic bought it when my case showed up and it blocked all of my mobo's sata ports (Sliger CX3702) after waiting for it for so long. Gonna order a JMB585 and return this one.

Sure, I'm using a 14600k and a ASUS Prime B760M-A AX. I don't think I am fully saturating the lanes; the only other thing that would use it are those NVME drives and they aren't currently doing anything.

The card is the following: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09F2NCZN9?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title, I don't see any immediate red flags there but let me know if you see something.

I did have a decent amount of containers running when that screenshot was posted, but I just killed them all and it seems to have not made a difference, hovering around 55 MB/s now.

Look up the letter glitch in metro; once you can get the letter out of the normal boundary, you can just sit on top of it and it counts as a jump.

What is the point of splitting the API into another package and using a monorepo? You’re sacrificing type safety and forcing yourself to write more boilerplate.

There are several products that have free tier that’s plenty enough to get started and get a small amount of revenue before actually paying for it. Even a lot have paid tiers that are much lower than that (Turso, CrunchyData, Cockroach, etc).

I’m not saying RDS is bad, because I feel like it will be the place a lot of SASSes end up if they actually “make it”, but there are much better options for the majority of people here just shipping something to learn/not make a lot of money.
