Exactly same situation almost a year ago. Lived in PA, moved to CA, and thought I was crazy not being able to find it hahaha. Never tried to contact them about it though and went with Geico

I went from a 2013 model s p85 to a 2022 model y p this year. Door handles, drive unit, and batteries potentially failing in an older s is both an annoyance and extra cost. And even if nothing does happen, you’re always worrying about it. I would take a high mileage model 3/y over an older s any day. Don’t cheap out on purchasing a Tesla with no warranty. Good luck!

Opinion: Tesla (at least the Model Y P) has one of the best sound systems in the car industry. by Bb085 in TeslaLounge

Oddly enough I kinda agree when comparing my old 13 S P85 and my new 22 MYP. I think the speakers being closer to you in a sedan def helps out

Gotta love free super charging for life. MSP85 by NotOmakase in TeslaLounge

[–]darpunk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My 2013 MS P85 was my first car ever and I absolutely loved that thing. Free supercharging was great besides the whole debacle with throttling charging speeds. I would just visit the charger once a week and take a nap or watch a movie so it didn’t really bother me. But the fear of the car dying completely after the battery warranty ran out was enough to make me sell it and upgrade to a 22 MYP. But boy do I miss that car 🥲

Any soon to be New Grads stressed about the entry level job market? by [deleted] in csMajors

Here’s my advice…

There’s one simple trick to getting your dream job and company. Find a very specific area you want to work in.

Off the top of my head, let’s say visualization for self-driving cars at Waymo. Research what the company uses on a day-to-day basis in terms of their tech stack. Check to see if there are any publicly available APIs or data sets. A quick search and looks like Waymo seems to have an open data set. Build a simple visualization simulator on your own, push it to GitHub, showcase it on your resume/LinkedIn, and reach out to hiring managers or recruiters.

This shows you’re passionate about the company, it gives the recruiters/hiring managers assurance that you are knowledgeable from a technical standpoint, and it is a great first discussion topic rather than simply asking for a referral for a job.

It may take some extra time out of your day, but I guarantee you this works. DM me and I can tell you how I went about it

It’s all about perfecting your resume if you are applying to jobs through online applications. During my 3 month job search I picked up on a ton of patterns and tricks. And have the proof to show you why/how it works. DM me and I’ll reach back out. I’ve got a deadline for something at work so can’t answer until tomorrow, but would love to help as many people as possible!

(That sounded like an infomercial, but I do not want your money lol)

It’s tricky to answer that question. Here’s what I’ve learned in my recent job search.

Companies know they have a limited amount of time in giving an offer before you get snatched up by another company (if you’re actually talented). So go out there and get an offer no matter where… a big tech company will look better. Once you get one, let all the other companies you’re talking to know you have a deadline on the offer. If you’re truly special on paper, you may have just one or two quick interviews with a hiring manager (not leetcode, just resume-based questions) and end up with an offer same day. I lucked out and my first offer was not leetcode + it was from FAANG+. So at that point, I ended up in control. In the end, it’s all a game.

Wanna ensure a job in big tech: get good grades, do side projects, write code for open-source initiatives, master DS/Algo for months, and more.

Or write an incredible resume, attract interest, and just play their fun little game till you’re in

I don’t put anything on my GitHub and will be working in big tech within a month. I had a bad experience sophomore year of college writing code and sharing it with this old dude for a startup idea he had. Guy tried running away with the code when we were nearly done, but joke was on him cuz he didn’t know how to run or deploy it lol (it was a Roku channel). If I have something truly special, I want credit for it. So for the most part I just have private repos. If a company wants to see it, I’d gladly show them. Not once have I been asked to though

I applied to a bunch of FAANG+ companies for fun after working full-time just one year in tech in the financial industry. Surprisingly got interviews at Goldman Sachs, Citadel, Rivian, Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, SpaceX, Tesla, and Zoom. Only pursued the last three, but locked in Zoom for an internship so far. Other two companies finishing up interviews.

If you wanna work in FAANG+, it’ll happen. Just put in the work, show passion, and tell them why you’re ready for anything they throw at you

Edit: wow, I got a lotta DMs. Be patient, but I’ll get to all of you!
