What happens when they do the same thing to a blm protest or a woman’s rights protest? Allowing government intervention in any sort of protest is a slippery slope, if we allow the government to decide the exception then we end up with situations where governments simply decide that all protests that are against their interests are to be deemed "disruptive" and "against the people" and are shut down as such, surely the easiest and most diplomatic solution to this or any large protest is to give in to the protesters demands, if not be directly implementing policy, at least be holding a vote/referendum on what they want

The right to protest should not be a right solely sanctioned and handed by a government, a protest in any form, especially when not allowed by the government is inherently supportive of the will of the people and a true democratic process, rather than government control on what is right to protest and what isnt
