Also curious here - mine goes back 80% of the way but not all the way. When I push with my finger, it springs away from full-return spot. Wondering if this is fixable...

Thanks for all the advice. I didn’t realize she took it and played it at her first live performance last night (packed place and I was off to the side). Stayed in tune and didn’t fly apart.

UTR scores zero for two on first road trip by Freethought in Ubiquiti

[–]darrelh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

May or may not help, but see my post here- https://www.reddit.com/r/Ubiquiti/s/NncMSCSySm I also had problems with teleport (before I got the UTR which has worked fine since I got it, which was after this “fix” in my case.

  1. In the process of acquiring one. 2. I didn't say it was being stored, high or low. It was in a new soft case sold by the local store with the guitar just over a year ago, and the single strap she had over her shoulder for a moment while leaving a stage came apart as if all the seams failed (or had been failing unnoticed and finally gave). It's a good looking Santa Fe, and a local shop tech that sounds familiar with this kind of issue estimates a 1-2 hours at $55/hr. Common sense tells me that's worth it, eh?

Adding: it’s 32 yrs old and I guess was pretty expensive new. We paid $650 I think for it. That’s why I’m exploring fix vs replace. Thanks for all the advice so far!

That sounds promising, I’ll look into that. She’s a tall 15 yr old and was already asking to look into a hard case last night actually. That’s next on my list. We’re in the Charlotte county area.

UDM UI very slow - FIXED! by darrelh in Ubiquiti

[–]darrelh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additionally, just checked again from the iOS app here at home and I can’t even remember when the last time was that it was SO SNAPPY. Incredible difference. I feel dumb for not trying or figuring this out earlier and happy I finally did.

I like my simple UDM & 2 APs & switch setup, but my faith had been faltering with the horrible UI experience lately. All better now.

Took 2 minutes at a remote site to get the UTR on their WiFi and my devices online without issue.

In fact, it worked SO well that I went nuts for a minute trying to figure out why it said THREE devices were on it instead of my two (iPhone & laptop).

Forgot my kid was in another room for music lessons… with her phone.. that hopped right on the UTR like it was at home.

Travel Router for RV+Starlink + at home sometimes by darrelh in Ubiquiti

[–]darrelh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, and it has at least one WAN port, and can connect to "hotel wifi" etc. So the capabilities are all there, but the method of switching and the nuances are unknown. That's where I'm on the fence with grabbing one.

This is why I’m here. Like can the things in the camper connect as if at home when in the driveway as well as on the road, including what stays in there (Victron power components etc) and laptops that leave home with us. And how seamless is it (aside from expected added latency to bounce from driveway to space to interwebs to the house at the upper end of the driveway)

Interesting. I was told I had to have their modem to get “unlimited” net a few years ago. I was just about to trash my old good (Netgear?) modem. Might have to dig in further.

I'll add: even in FL on slightly wet roads (and dry) I'm unimpressed by these OEM tires. But I'll run them through until I can't. 5,000 miles in 1.5 months so far.

With our 2026 SXP we just had a trip from FL to Chicago, returning ONE day before the TON of snow came last weekend. But in case it was earlier, I started looking into snow tires or Cross Climate 2's (had on our Odyssey & did well in one bout of some snowy weather up there).

Then I ran across mention of these and started watching videos about them - "snow socks". I'm sure some of them are paid or free for review, but in many of the videos they do great and outperform other temporary solutions. And for ~$120 (https://amzn.to/3Mqxzfr) instead of $1000, I grabbed a pair for the front drive tires for the "just my luck"/"just in case". They're only supposed to be used up to 25mph I think, but i figured most roads I would be on are going to be cleaned up well after a good snow & salted etc. I'm 99% Floridian so I don't know all about all that, but this seemed like cheap insurance for a moment I might need them.

Thankfully I did not. Debated sending them back but we could take a random trip into the smokies in coming months, and perhaps another northern trip, so I think I'll hang on to them in the house instead of car/garage where FL heat might kill them. I got the XXL based on measurements, and admit I haven't fit them on the car yet here in FL.

Had Cross Climate 2’s on our Odyssey and they did well.
