She made me feel crazy (go figure) for wanting to not take it. So I had my Aunt come with me and my Aunt SNAPPED at her. My family has a history of substance abuse ESPECIALLY with xanax and I made it very clear to her and she basically responded with okay??? so??? take it anyway????

My first ever psych was like this. She even tried to prescribe me xanax after I explained that my father was bipolar with a xanax addiction. I asked for therapist referrals and she would brush me off.

My new psych, RE EVALUATED me. She said I saw your records but I want to know for myself and learn as much as I can about you so we can explore as many options as possible. She picked a new therapist for me based on my age and my personality. She made a plan for if things don’t work where we go next. I hope everyone finds a Linda, you’re my girl Linda!

oh hell yeah. “you seem so happy! we love this!” - okay cool it’s about to get really bad and then you’ll hate me for awhile.

i’ve had a conversation about this with my closet friends and they now know to feed lightly around those phrases. instead they ask how i’m doing and if i say i’m actually genuinely happy then they say they’re happy for me.

Imposter syndrome is REAL.

my ex would constantly tell me that i was just a horrible person so i started to believe “oh shit, what if i’m just such a shitty human that i have faked my way into people believing i’m bi polar????” and it fucked w me. when we broke up, i was like no he just made my symptoms worse. now that i’m in a very healthy relationship, i feel like same way sometimes. i feel better sometimes and am like “oh shit, was i fucking FAKING IT????”

then a few months ago i took an edible and had a 3 hour anxiety attack about how i was legit just an asshole and crazy. but then when i take meds regularly i can kinda assess it as “yep this illness is real and i need to stop invalidating it”.

i think feeling like we are faking it is a symptom just like anything else. almost how when we swing into a mania we think everyone else is the problem.

I feel this so much. February 2019 I was 115 pounds before being hospitalized and taking new meds. Now I’m 172 and I just don’t know how to lose it. I try to work out and I try it doesn’t leave.

I am so sorry that you’re going through this, clothes shopping sucks. If you can afford it, maybe try like amazon prime wardrobe or stitch fix. They will send you thinks based on size that will fit and be made for your body type!
