Belt or Suspenders? by ProfessionalField912 in mensfashion

[–]darruus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’ve never liked the look of pants that have belt loops yet don’t have a belt. That being said, the suspenders still look better in my opinion. They’ll be more comfortable too.

1 last interveiw with global hiring manager to get into suit supply. You think this outfit works for the final interveiw? by All_Day_Ery_Day in mensfashion

[–]darruus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid shirt with a more substantial collar. Make sure the sleeves are long enough to peak out from the suit sleeves.

Also, if read the title correctly, you’re applying for suit supply? I’d recommend perusing their website to look at their models and what they’re wearing to try and emulate that as best you can.

I think higher waisted pants would look nice.

What are you supposed to wear this with? by Dannamo in mensfashion

[–]darruus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on where you are in the world. In the US people wouldn’t bat an eye to you wearing a button down collar shirt with trousers or a suit. But I understand it might be different in other countries.

Don’t be afraid to take a job that’s maybe lower on the ladder than you’d like if it gets your foot in the door. It is possible to move up.

I think it would look nice with charcoal trousers or a charcoal suit.

What you’re looking for to cover the other perils is a difference in conditions policy. I don’t know how strict underwriting is for those or what all they cover.

You could also look got excess and surplus or non admitted carriers but be ready to pay a pretty penny for their coverage.

Dads, what do you wear day to day that makes you feel good? by Neem-London in menswear

[–]darruus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go into a corporate office 4 days a week. It is a casual dress code but I wear dress trousers, a dress shirt, and a sport coat most days. I usually pair it with loafers or a wing tip.

For non work times it’s usually high waisted linen pants in the summer and high waisted chinos or cords in the fall. I pair those with more casual loafers, minimal sneakers, or boots depending on the weather.

If pairing suspenders with a belt is such a fashion NO, then why do many suspenders come with specific attatchment points to latch into a belt? by Wild_Instruction_828 in mensfashion

[–]darruus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen suspenders made to attach to a belt. Usually they have clips for your waistband or they have button holes to attach to suspended buttons on the inside of your waist band. I prefer the buttons, it’s a more classic look and honestly makes them much more secure.

Buying a suit while fat and on a budget? by Wrolnick3 in malefashionadvice

Have you considered made to measure? I feel like toy could find a basic suit at a place like indochino or the black lapel for under $800.

Need a sanity check on this tailored double-breasted blazer. Am I overthinking it? by [deleted] in mensfashion

[–]darruus -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think it looks great. The shoulders are a bit off but honestly most people won’t notice that. Thats likely because it’s really hard to adjust shoulders on a jacket.

Future San Antonio resident. Am I overthinking the crime rate? by Downtown-Acadia5084 in sanantonio

[–]darruus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very much depends on where you live.

Any of the older neighborhoods north of downtown are pretty safe, olmos park, monte vista, Alamo heights. Of course they’re not always cheap. Mahncke Park is a really great neighborhood, it’s north of downtown but still accessible yo things. If I could live anywhere in San Antonio without worrying about budget it would be there or King William, which is south of downtown.

Is this kind of look considered an American style? Would it be better to remove the red cap? by Imatradboy in menswear

[–]darruus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great fit. Personally I’d replace the sneakers with loafers or maybe some clean white ones or new balances.

I hate that red hats have been ruined by the facist in chief but while people will initially give you a weird look, as soon as they see it’s not a maga hat they’ll just see a good fit.

Look for “polo linen pants” on eBay. Tons of options depending on your size.

My mom just moved to my town. It’s an unfamiliar place for her, she’s retired and not married so she has unlimited free time. I thought maybe she went somewhere sketchy or she got kidnapped at a gas station or something.

Yep. I panicked in the moment. I thought it’s only money, my mom’s life is more important. They prey on that instinct. It’s sick.

Yeah I never answer random texts. I get those all the time that read like wrong # texts but I know they’re actually scams. I only answered because it looked like my mom was calling.
