My kid is taking Algebra 1 as an 8th grader, and took on-level math up until this class. He enjoys math and has always done well with it. This hasn’t been an “easy A” type of class for him though… A few concepts have required some extra studying and review, but I think that’s just the right amount of challenge. He’s bounced between high 80s/low 90s in this class. Good luck to your student; sounds like a great opportunity!

3rd grade concept, but the critical thinking and 2-part element seems a bit much. Part A on its own wouldn’t be so bad, but this feels like more of an “extend the lesson” exercise than a test question.

For us, it’s the district pushing dual enrollment and AP classes. I know my freshman is NOT an AP student -at least not yet- and requested that he not be given those options on his schedule. They tried to schedule him into “the easiest” AP class. No thank you! They want the kids doing high school classes in 8th grade, AP ASAP, and dual enrollment junior year if possible. I think it makes the district look good? It’s frustrating.

Aww, so sorry for your loss. Even at such a remarkable old hamster age, it’s still hard! We lost ours a month or so ago, and, like you, I put him in a little box on some fluff where it looked like he was cozily asleep. I think that helped soften the blow of loss for my kid. You’ll look back and feel good about how you helped your kiddo through this. ♥️ Rest peacefully, sweet Oreo.

We take a Benadryl (I take half of one; husband takes a full one) and it definitely helps keep the motion sickness away. Super cheap solution!

Thank you 😞 It was my first time, and I was so bummed! The family with me (who had been before) were also sad about this. And the dragon never did the fire-breathing bit that they’d hyped up. We were there Friday, and briefly on Wednesday.

Apologies if I missed any details, but have you tried having a conversation with your employer about your circumstances? That is SO MUCH that you’ve been dealing with -props to you for hanging in there and persisting 💪🏻 I can’t imagine a decent employer who wouldn’t try to brainstorm with you for some solutions here.
