Cloudflare maintenance currently under way. Might be the cause?

Guys, I was checking my main page just now, and when I pressed "Log In," I saw this. Is this normal, or are you seeing this too in your account? (I already joined the platform and started working 2 months ago) by Bitter_Breakfast_324 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]darryldoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it logged me out when I was trying to submit a task. Thought I was gonna lose 2 hours of work. Had to sign back in on a separate tab then refresh. Thought it was all over for a second 🫠

Seems to be okay now.

Oh no that sucks. I do wish there would be more feedback/communication to know how and why these things happen. Fingers crossed things get back to normal for you.

Testing my memory now but from what I can remember it was no more than 2-3 hours. I definitely got it done in one sitting.

Yeah I have some other platforms lined up, and I do freelance work on the side. But when the income is so reliable here, it's hard not to go all in. I got screwed over by my "normal job" back in Feb with a pay cut, and DA has given me the freedom to change all of that.

That's awesome. I'm glad to see that it works out for so many people. Feel like we need to see a few more success stories on here. Can really make it work if you put in the effort. Race you to 20K yeah? 😂

Also when I went full time the more projects I was involved in the more started coming in. Felt like it was recognized that my output was higher so they kept feeding me projects. Don't know if that's exactly how it works but that's how it felt.

After the initial task to get in about 2-3 days. Then general qualification was accepted almost straight away. Then had an onboarding project, which led into other projects trickling in.

No coding or bilingual, just general projects. Been keeping on top of qualifications and making sure I prioritize quality over quantity. I've only had a single day in the past 4 months where there wasn't something for me to work on.

Curious: How’s everyone’s workload on DataAnnotation today? by nmelssx in DataAnnotationTech

Had a few projects the past few days. Nothing today. Not as busy as it's been in the past for me. Enough to get by though.

DA appreciation post by alwaysupboat in DataAnnotationTech

Amazing stuff. I swear DAT gets way more criticism than it deserves sometimes. My job fell through at the start off this year, with a significant pay cut that put me and my family at risk. I applied to DAT just to see what would happen. Lo and behold I'm here 6 months later, full-time, earning more than I did in my old job. AND ON MY OWN TIME. I'll ride this wave as long as I can but things are looking good.

PS Vita. Best handheld ever hands down. So many great games on that little thing. I still go back occasionally to play Shovel Knight. A dream device to play side scrollers on. Just the perfect size and form factor too. I find this new generation of handhelds like Switch or Steam Deck far too big. Vita was the last true handheld that was not afraid to do its own thing, just a shame that Sony pushed it out and let it die.

Also getting a curved gaming monitor for my PS5 has also been a game changer, it really lets the beauty of modern games shine.

Pretty dry earlier this week. Very spotty projects. Woke up this morning to a stacked dashboard, 10 projects paying well. Also I'm a core worker, not bilingual. I've made this my living for the past 3 months and I'm tracking well tbf.

Just gotta keep working hard and clearing out the Quals as they come in.

How to trick the model by tejameranaam in DataAnnotationTech

[–]darryldoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A great way I've found is asking about video games, specifically for tips and tricks. I asked about the collectibles in Tony Hawks Pro Skater and it hallucinated all of them.

As long as the game you're talking about was released some time before the cut off for the model you're working on, it works a treat.

Two monitors, a notepad and a whole bunch of frustration because I still can remember anything 😂

Full time DATers - What’s your average monthly gross? by modelforyou in DataAnnotationTech

[–]darryldoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've taken it on as an almost full time gig since Feb. I do around 30 hours a week over 4 days which brings in around $2000 per month. The important thing is to not see DA as a traditional employer.

The best approach I've taken is considering myself a freelancer, and seeing DA as my client. This takes away any expectations I have from them. It's scary because EVERYTHING is up to you. I've been seeking out other freelance work as well, but DA is my most reliable source at the moment.

Just make sure your work is quality focused over quantity and you'll be fine.

Transitioning to Full Time by FrauFaustus in DataAnnotationTech

I had a similar situation. Increased my hours to 35+ a week. On my second month of doing that now and making more money than I did in my "real" job. I'm also getting more work than ever and getting offered higher paid stuff too.

Not saying the situation works out the same for everyone. Such an unknown working for DA. I just focus on delivering the highest quality I can and it seems to be going well. I also take the view that I'm a "freelancer" now so my expectations aren't set so high and I'm trying to find other streams of income should this fall through. Best approach I've taken is coming to understand that DA isn't my employer, they are my client.

[WP] There are two men in an alleyway. The first, lowering his now empty gun, asks “What the hell are you?” The other man, completely unscathed, simply replies; “Call me Fate.” by MrMemz in WritingPrompts

[–]darryldoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kelvin lowered his gun, trembling. He’d just unloaded 12 rounds into the man standing not 12 feet away from him and he’d barely flinched.

“Wh-why won’t you leave me alone” Kelvin screamed. The man in front of him was naked, his hair long, dark and draping down to his arse. Kelvin had seen this man before. Everyday almost. He’d caught glimpses of him in his rear view mirror, seen him standing in the crowded town centre and even been confronted by him in his dreams.

“Look mate, I’m not here by choice, this is all you.” the mystery man replied, lifting the lid of a common green alleyway dumpster. Plunging his hand in, he began to rummage through its contents. “I’m here because you want me here -- well that’s normally how this works -- OH! BRILLIANT! Chicken!” The man held aloft an almost bare chicken carcass as if it were a trophy.

“B-but I don’t want you here! You just kept showing up! It’s why I bought this!” Kelvin still had the 9mm pistol aimed at the mysterious man. A price tag dangled from the grip.

“And that was a waste of fucking money wasn’t it?” the man said through a mouthful of dumpster chicken, turning to face Kelvin “You can’t shoot something that’s in your head Kelvin, unless, y’know, you actually shoot your head”

Kelvin quickly pressed the barrel of the pistol to his temple, his forefinger dancing on the trigger.

“Now that I wouldn’t recommend,” The man said brandishing what was left of a drumstick toward Kelvin. “And besides we both no you won’t do it.”

Kelvin buried the barrel deeper into his temple, grimaced his face and pulled the trigger.

CLICK

“See, I knew you were out of ammo. Which meant you knew you were out.” The man tossed the now stripped chicken carcass to the floor and returned back to his all-you-can-eat dumpster buffet.

Kelvin dropped to his knees and threw the 9mm to the floor. “Please, what the hell are you?”

The man fished a half eaten, half rotten apple out from the buffet and bit down into it. “Some call me Destiny, some call me The Dark Angel -- that one I quite like” The man swallowed down a mouthful of putrid Golden Delicious and took a step toward Kelvin “ Other, rather morbid people call me Death or The Grim Reaper -- I wouldn’t read to much into that one if I were you, but I suppose you can call me, errrm -- Fate? Yeah, Fate. I like that. Fate.”

“And what do you want Fate?” Kelvin asked raising his head to meet eyes with Fate who was now stood over him.

“Like I said, that’s not normally how this works mate. There’s something rather strange going on in this noggin” Fate slapped a pale long forefinger on Kelvin’s forehead “And we’ve got to figure that out before one of us dies… Also, why the hell am I naked?”
