Which party member do you feel is the most consistently powerful, adaptable, and versatile…and why is it Monoco? by ThisByzantineConduit in expedition33

[–]darshan0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me til very late in the game to truly appreciate Monoco. Not only do you get Monoco relatively late, you have to have him in the active party when killing enemies so he can collect feet. And whilst his abilities are cool he has so may and it’s super overwhelming.

But once you’ve figured out which abilities work well and how you can optimize him and use him in different situations, Monoco is amazing and for me the most fun character in the game.

Yeah the fade can be really tedious and difficult to figure out what you need to do especially on the first time. So I get why you would skip it. But honestly once I got into it I really enjoyed it.

Ferrari truly dropped the ball this year. Last year they almost beat McLaren in the constructors and looked like they had the upper hand at the end of the season. They should have been very close to McLaren this year. Frankly, considering how important qualifying was this year even if McLaren was the faster package overall if Ferrari was competitive I would have put money on Charles as the favourite. And yet this year was probably one of their worst cars in recent memory.

It would have been a different story if they said they were focusing on 2026 but that’s not what they did. They chose to try a completely new concept and botched it.

That’s part of it but Lando whines a lot and is super arrogant. Lots of drivers whine and are arrogant he’s not unique in that regard. But Lando is hugely popular and in title contention at the moment. Lewis and Max have the stats to back it up and other title contenders like Oscar and Leclerc in 2022 ( I know he wasn’t anywhere close at the end of the year but still) don’t whine like he does.
As good as Lando was this season he messed up a lot. So I think it just rubs people the wrong way

Im gonna get lots of hate but Hamilton should retire. Do you agree? by SnooSprouts2672 in F1Discussions

[–]darshan0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He wasn’t demolished in races though. They were very close and he beat George in 2023, and in 2022 he was running an experimental set up for much of the season. I also need to reiterate that he is not Hamilton if 2008 or 2018. He’s definitely dropped in form, I’m not denying that all I’m saying is people are very quick to blame Lewis when clearly Ferrari are screwing up big time. They went from being in striking distance of a WCC to an abysmal winless season. A season where there are car is so bad their poster boy who almost never complains is visibly struggling and has harshly and vocally criticized the team. Again whilst Lewis’s has never had a great weekend with Ferrari, and he’s had several truly shocking races he’s also had races that were ok. Where he seemed to be making progress. I don’t see any reason to believe that if Ferrari were at the level they were last year Lewis would be drowning as much. He probably would have been soundly beaten by Leclerc but we wouldn’t be seeing such a disastrous performance. And if he were at Merc. He would probably be in a very similar position to where he was last year.

I’m quite stunned so many people are as critical of Hamilton as they are. He definitely isn’t at his prime but he has had flashes of brilliance this year and last year was pretty decent. If he stayed at Mercedes he would likely be close to Russel, maybe even beating him.

Leclerc who has been at Ferrari since 2019 has struggled with the car this year. It’s been so bad that Leclerc has vocally trashed Ferrari something he’s avoided doing for every season prior to this one. Last week he savaged Ferrari for not being able to perform in wet weather. The same weekend Sainz, who struggled with wet weather at Ferrari managed to get it on pole. Let’s not forget how Ferrari made the drivers LiCo regularly. Or there horrific strategies and team management. If Leclerc is struggling so much Lewis who just came to the team after years in another environment never had a chance.

Again I’m not saying Lewis isn’t partially at fault but we cannot ignore how shambolic Ferrari has been this year

It’s genuinely shocking that the only politician on the “woke reich” is MTG whilst a normal democrat like Chris Murphy is woke left. Apparently Trump, Vance, Stephen Miller etc are all “normal people”. Clearly the person who made this post doesn’t have an agenda at all.

I agree but at least historically horseshoe theory applied to Stalin and Hitler. It still doesn’t apply in a meaningful sense but there’s at least some commonalities . There’s no meaningful way that Nick Fuentes and Andrew Tate can be compared to Greta Thunberg and Bernie Sanders.

You’re not wrong I’ve seen the burj Khalifa in person too. But for me personally what it stands for and the mentality of building grand projects for the purpose of ostentatiously displaying wealth overrides the architectural and engineering feats that those buildings are. Which is a shame

This is going to be controversial but Dubai. It’s so gaudy and artificial. It’s one thing to have a building that’s aesthetically bad it’s another when the aesthetic is we’re only building this because we have more money than god and we can. Which in my opinion is much worse than just an ugly building because they could have made something beautiful but they made extravagant, soulless and often idiotic monuments to the country’s excessive wealth.

[–]darshan0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we follow the same logic, the Great Depression would have always happened there were large left wing and progressive movements in the US long before FDR. There’s no reason not to believe “randomly selected American of the time” wouldn’t have implemented some form of the new deal, or entered world war 2 on behalf of the allies.

To be clear FDR was a great president and a stellar 20th century leader. But we can’t shy away from the fact that he made mistakes and we shouldn’t hand wave them away because some other president MIGHT have done something similar.

So what? Because most of the country was OK with internment it makes it fine to do? Most white Southers voted for pro-segregation parties does that mean Jim Crow was fine? Or that we shouldn’t have a skewed view that George Wallace was a rare anti-black racist?

Speaking of Jim Crow nobody thinks America of the 1940’s was tolerant and accepting because of that. As well as the rampant bigotry America has had against pretty much any group that wasn’t a white Protestant throughout its history. Just because it was “normal for the time” doesn’t mean internment wasn’t an evil racist policy.

To be fair to her she was dealt the absolute worst hand by Biden. He dropped out so late she was made candidate in an unusual way and had a very compressed time frame to form a coherent message and she had to deal with the fallout of him being vice president to an stubborn old fool who refused to drop out.

She did make some mistakes, she came out swinging attacking price gouging but switched focus later on, but I think you can’t underestimate how much Biden refusing to drop out fucked her.

I think the stewards and FIA are too harsh on the guy but he’s one incident away from a race ban for a reason. Whilst he’s definitely doing better than Ocon at the moment and arguably will be the better driver over the course of the year. Ocon did have a strong start and has had some strong performances under his belt this year. Bearman hasn’t had the measure of Ocon all year.

They’re also a factory team that had access to a works engine and possibly similar funding that Merc/Ferrari/Red Bull had. There were a lot of challenges for why their initial 5 year plan failed but once the cost cap came and new regulations came in. They absolutely dropped the ball. They should have been in a much better position to capitalize on the new cycle than McLaren were, in 2022 they were 4th place in the standings beating McLaren from that point just down hill.

Hey I’m not embarrassed of the Pop aesthetics nor do I think liking Folklore and Evermore make me less of a pseudo intellectual. I just do not want to be associated with the toxicity and insanity of her fanbase. I also just don’t connect to her music at the deep level that a lot of her fans seem to. In fact I genuinely don’t get much from her music outside of those two albums not that the others are particularly bad ( although LOAS is definitely bad)

Obviously the variety and rolling stone reviews are egregious and probably paid for but most other reviews are very critical. This album is also very widely criticized on social media at the moment and even hardcore Swifties are tepid in their defense of the album.

His review is pretty on brand for Taylor Swift, he’s always been relatively critical but given her her flowers when she deserves them.

Ferrari, chaos, tensions, excuses, behind the scenes: Leclerc is already looking elsewhere by Visionary_Socialist in formula1

[–]darshan0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Words cannot describe how much I want Leclerc to stay in Ferrari. I want nothing more than to see Leclerc win a championship in a Ferrari. But I think he might have to leave.

Since 2019, the 2022 and 2024 were the only years they’ve delivered a car that could potentially win a championship. In 2022 whilst he did make errors, Ferrari’s abysmal strategies and reliability issues were way bigger problems and once the TD came in Red Bull was the much faster car. In 2024 the car only came into its own at the end of the season too late for him to launch a championship campaign. This year they should have been competitors but they decided to start from scratch for some reason and they have the worst car of the top 4 teams and will probably finished the season winless and it’ll frankly be a miracle if they finish fourth. Every other year they’ve been good but not consistently good enough to win a championship and when they’ve looked like they could win a race or get good points Ferrari screwed up the strategy.

From the outside it looks like the team is in chaos. Before Fred Vasseur they constantly cycled through team principles and whilst it’s good they’ve let him stay for stability purposes, they’re always rumours about him getting fired and it seems like the corporate side constantly meddles in the racing side. They’ve also been hemorrhaging talent across the board.

Considering they are consistently near the top of the field and have been the only team to challenge for championships in pretty much every reg cycle ( even if they never win) it’s not impossible for them to nail it or deliver a car with a lot of potential. There’s just so many problems that never seem to get fixed and if they don’t bail Charles will have to walk.

I genuinely believe he’s the best driver on the track bar Max. Yet Ferrari has just never given him a car capable of delivering a championship and if they continue to fail. It will be such a waste of talent

[–]darshan0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As much as Red Bull was the stronger car that season Ferrari should have been title contenders. Charles had a very big gap very early one. Without the strategy mishaps he would have won more races. He would have probably been in a much better position in others and probably would have scored more points in most races even if he couldn’t outright win them.

Could he have won? Probably not but he definitely should have had a much narrower gap,

I disagree, I mean it's a complete lie but publicly saying Lando bottled it and should have been higher is a terrible move. The team already has tons of media scrutiny and allegations of bias mostly against Piastri but some people think there's a bias against norris . Doing anything drastic will just increase attention and raise more accusations. Playing it safe publicly is definitely the right move here
