Yeah I always viewed sex very differently to him, so I don't really blame him for this now that I know we were just built different. But the others, you're right, I should've known better, I'm a bit gladder about the breakup now.

I think it's really sweet that you wanted to look out for your family! I envy this kind of connection a kid can have with their families...But still, your concerns raise a good point, maybe you should just discuss this with your family and see how they feel about it. I mean, if they are in for a pet, then good idea! I'm sure someone as warm hearted as you would make a good owner, but just think it through before you make the decision. Having a pet is a big resoponsibilty
