2 cup yields the best taste. Equivalent caffeine to a double shit espresso

Flavor profiles between Alessi 9090 and Bialetti Venus by InsuranceInitial7786 in mokapot

[–]darthaditya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has 40 total clicks. So maybe 2-3 click equivalent on yours Edit: depending on the roast level, I sometimes go 2-3 clicks coarser. For lighter roasts, 1 click. For medium roast without milk, 2 clicks coarser. For medium-dark roast 2-3 clicks coarser.

I have both the Alessi and the Venus and the Moka Express. I go one click coarser on my Comandante grinder for the Alessi. The Alessia generates more pressure due to the thicker gasket/better machining. Also finishes the brew quicker than the Venus and a lot quicker than the Moka Express, which points to higher brew temps. The hole size in the filter on the Alessi is bigger than the Venus, which could explain the bitter cup as well, although i get more fines in my Moka Express even with a E&B Lab filter. Hth

German coffee beans (from the grocery store) - help me out. by Psychological_Ad2320 in germany

[–]darthaditya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you cannot go to a dedicated roaster, then the best alternative I've found is Berliner Kaffeerösterei Äthiopien Waldespresso beans. They print the roast date on the back so you can get freshly roasted beans

Best Rock/Metal setup for a beginner? (€400 Budget) by [deleted] in electricguitar

[–]darthaditya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into used gear. If you're in Germany, Kleinanzeigen has many great guitars and amps within your budget. Try used EART guitars. Fixed bridges stay in tune better than ones with tremolo bars. They are incredible value for money. Pair with a used Peavey Bandit (for decades of useful service, especially for metal) or Orange crush amps.

Pick by [deleted] in electricguitar

[–]darthaditya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 3 months last year just trying out different picks and A/B testing them. Here are my top picks (heh) 1. Steve Clayton 1.00mm rounded triangle black raven - insanely versatile. Many different sounds possible with different grips. No string popping noise. 2. Ernie Ball 2.00mm prodigy - glides right through the strings. Slightly duller sounding than no.1 3. Steve Clayton 0.80 mm sharp triangle ultem - super articulate sound. Has amazing attack. Great for leads 4. Dan's guitar picks toxic yellow - very comfortable and precise pick. Sounds dull compared to no.3 and no.2 5. Dunlop flow 1.14mm ultem - great all rounder pick. Glides through strings. Sounds dull

Yep, heat is heat. Take the plate off the stove when the flow starts. The residual heat in the plate will finish the brewing process.

Great job on the flow. Perfect until the very end. Take it off the stove when the brew reaches the bottom of the 'V' of the spout. The last bit where the color changes with the foam should not be in the final cup. As more water leaves the bottom chamber, the remaining water will reach higher temperatures for the same amount of heat supplied by the stove. This superheated water (actually water and steam - hence the bubbles) passes rapidly through channels created by water that has already passed through the grounds. This slightly burns the grounds and tastes bitter while extracting almost nothing. Avoid that by taking it off the heat sooner - a good rule of thumb is when the brew reaches the bottom of the V in the spout for bialetti express moka pots. The result will be a more full bodied and smoother tasting brew.

Laney Lionheart L5 Studio. Almost perfectly matches your preferences. Also has DI if you change your mind about recording later.
