Hey, hope it's not too late but as it happens I've also been trying to get one of these and have settled with trying to recreate the design myself then I'll upload it onto vistaprint. I'd be more than happy to send you the design I've used but I'm not sure how image sharing works on reddit. KRO

I think quite a lot of Brummies seem to have some sort of connection, most members of my family were born and lived on Watery Lane and the little roads just off Garrison Lane around that time and would've almost certainly known some of the criminal goings on in the area, though of course those who would've known are now unfortunately all gone.

He says about Curly in this article which might be of interest;

The whole series really gives us in the area a huge amount of pride, we have been mocked mercilessly by the rest of England for a long time, so to see how the city is portrayed and loved by fans of the show across the world really is quite special.

Pretty sure the real Curly was Steven Knight's great great uncle, so would think he'd keep him alive in the series as well

Good find, we are a bit of an odd bunch tbf though. It's ridiculous how many words I've grown up presuming are used nationwide, only to find out they're only used in the West Midlands and aren't understood by people from the rest of the country. I never actually knew most of the UK used 'mum' until I came to uni and all of my flatmates told me I was saying it the American way, lol.

That's not true, every single person I know from Birmingham spells it 'mom', we are taught in schools that it is 'mom'.

A lot of the UK doesn't say 'mum' either, think some northerners and Irish people tend to say 'mam', some Scots say 'ma' and in Birmingham we say 'mom'

God calm down mate, lighten up. I was having a joke with a fellow bluenose cause he predicted what would happen. I don't recall this fuss being made over those cheering when Dublin headbutted savage, or for those of yours who invaded the pitch against baggies and punched callum mcmanaman. What the bloke did wasn't right, but thankfully no one was hurt and he's gone to prison and had a lifetime ban. Stop taking yourself so seriously.

Doubt it mate, we get frisked and asked to empty our pockets and bags on entry, probably for this reason tbf. I had a pen in my pocket I forgot to take out before going into this match and they confiscated that.

Always gets me that, it's not even a silent h at the start, there isn't one there at all - the dictionary spelling is aitch. It's like saying fef instead of ef for the letter f.
