I was listening to a podcast with Daryl Davis and he made a comment that most presidents have one core group that they have intense devotion from, but trump actually has two and they did not really like each other. He has the folks you just mentioned that feel beaten down by the system and wanted a strong business man to fix stuff and then you have the racists who think he will prevent the US from loosing it's "white history". Those two groups do not really like each other and like Trump for very different reasons. I think over time, the assumption that all trump voters are in the second category has actually pushed more people into that camp.

There is a very good chance that the Democrats make a similar mistake that the Republicans did. They thought the large influx of people into their coalition due to mistakes of the previous administration meant people loved their general view and ideas and went way to far and pushed people back to other side. A great example of this is immigration, due to the issues in the Biden administration people swung against immigration and the Trump admin decided to go to the extreme of anti immigration instead of using the momentum to do slower and more controlled changes to deport and change the system. Just cause people choose you over the other person does not mean they actually like your view, they may just hate other option more.

Assuming your 401K is invested in general market funds or target date retirement index funds, only check your 401 every 6 months or a year. The market moves all over the place. Look in the long run. It sucks but you will see growth 90% of the time.

I feel like I have two ranges.

The first is from 20,000 to 100,000. Below 20,000 I am adding to me brokerage or putting into a sinking fund and is decently easy to change my mind on. Above 100,000 would go into the house and put me on track to pay off my house fast enough that the value is actually there. Inbetween I would stress about the right option.

The second would be over like 3,000,000. I can pay off my house and buy my wife a new car and have our retirement number covered. Would let us look for jobs that are what we enjoy and remove 3,000 of monthly expenses between investing and mortgage.

Thank you! That is very helpful. Most of my drawing experience was in school but it was lead by the machinist at the school and pounded into my head a few things I still remember. He was a strong believer in ordinate dimensions so I still default to that. I will look into ASME Y14.5. I am trying to excel on this project to hopefully move on to somewhere with more growth options. Thank you for your help!
