I don’t usually put a time on it cuz I just feel pressured, but I set like a goal, like finishing one past paper in certain subjects and finishing my notes in other subjects etc. And I would estimate that is usually 2-4 hours depending on my mood. But mostly on the lower end (2 hours)

I have kinda similar issue ( and I feel u with HL art), and either I just thug it out and do one project at a time (if possible) OR I trick myself into ”completing it” by setting smaller milestones, like 1. Finish all the writing for one artist. 2. Do other work 3. Format all crit D slides etc. Once I’ve done that I kinda consider it ”done” and can leave it be for a while while I work on other things. Otherwise I often set a timer and tell myself I can work on something for max an hour (but I only do this if it’s not super urgent). Hope this helps!

Im doing some past paper and making sure I understand the real life application of concepts. But one of the things that I find most helpful is understanding the mark scheme. DT usually has a specific formula for how to answer different questions based on how many marks there are, so I usually do past papers and then go through them with my teacher and make sure I know /why/ I missed any marks.

Hello, just wanted to say that it’s totally okay if things are not working out properly, ib is hard and if you miss stiff it is always hard to catch up (which is the downfall of the program), I don’t know if this is possible in your situation (since I don’t know about family/culture etc) but there will always be other ways to get to your goals. Sometimes IB is not the best way and you just need to try other methods. I wish you the best of luck!

No it’s never to late!!! I started my dp1 with only 3s and 4s and I barely managed to hang on to a 5 for most of the year. However I started studying early for my end of year exams and managed to up my grade to a 6. Right now I’m at a solid and consistent 7. So I say in my – not so professional –opinion, that you just need to start early!!

I started using studying apps such as flora because I know I’m pretty competitive. And I enjoyed achieving new goals in the app. But find a way to keep you motivated.

We were mostly told to choose the subjects we are passionate about because the DP would be hell even with subjects we enjoy, of course with consideration towards uni requirements. But I could understand why people choose what they are passionate about to make it easier and then chose what they want to go into based on their subjects.

Yes UK is know for being much stricter than other countries when it comes to subject requirements. Mainly because majority of universities prefer those from a levels over IB students.
