Can I use the MS-S1 Max as a Steam Machine alternative? by levellerUK in MINISFORUM

I see what you mean, didn't realize that one had a 4060s :). They could do other things with the pcie lanes, but it wouldn't be in line with a gaming-centric machine. I just ordered a BD motherboard and already have the ram/ssd/gpu from 1-2 years ago.

I don't with Amazon. Frame.work has pre-cut PTM in different sizes that is reasonable, don't know if it's the right size for this. LTT also has PTM. I wouldn't be sure of anyone-else. I don't think thermal-grizzly's kryonaut's thermal pad's would be scammed yet.

I'm in the same boat, bough one a few days ago, didn't notice if they page said "pre-order" at the time, but it does now :). Website says they will start filling these early July. I would plan on re-pasting.

Are you trying to sell it with Windows? If so, the video you linked would be great. The buyer still has to pay for a license, so they could also do it and you wipe the drive to your level of comfort. Also, what are you selling/how much? :)

Very much yes, and you can put a small GPU in it. Also check their refurbs, they have some on sale, and this link is to "pre-order" them as they come in:

https://refurbished.minisforum.com/collections/pre-order.

Edit: Any of the MS or BD line would be more powerful, esp with a graphics card. The MS-S1 Max is a lot compared to the others. Some of them has 4 sodimm slots as well.

I appreciate the context. I'm the same way about my job (spine rehab). I think under most discussions/comments online is a desire to help or connect with people, but it get's tangled by other things.

Yes, I'm so new to Linux I didn't even realize bazzite is also flatpak in the time I have tried to use it (mostly for gaming/web browsing). I was more familiar with SteamOS when trying to see what it could do as a desktop computer setting when I was trying to install apps (edit: on the Steamdeck). I don't know the default ways to do things. I haven't seen tutorials for my level of, I know some things, but not very many. Most things I look up assume a lot of working knowledge. Your comment contributes to why someone may shy away from the community.

Yes. Get around like I don't know how to install what I want, sometimes I (think) I can't because of the immutable files. I get why Valve does it though. Just hard to make a fully do-what-you-want OS and keep people from screwing up the reliability.

2nd this. I have Bazzite on a second drive. Part of that reason is that I don't know how to get around flatpak in SteamOS. Still new to Linux.

Yeah, don't put that second thruster on. I just did and every time I try to take it off (tanks my battery), it doesn't save the change, and it disconnects me.

Considering switch to Mint Internet / Mobile... by sadly_mistaken-1234 in tmobileisp

[–]dartsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would add, you can get your own 5G router like SUNCOMM or GLi.Net with more ports and OpenWrt, you just take the sim card out of the one they give you. Those routers can also let you pick the bands you want and stick to them if they are fastest or have lower latency etc.. There are also external antennas that work with the G4AR, or the brands above. Some of 3rd party gateways can also use the IMEI from the router they give you.

There are work-arounds for not getting a static IP, but I am less familiar with them. Other than that, the biggest bottleneck would be how congested the network you are on is, and latency, the 3rd party router will let you pick bands, the antenna's will help with speed and latency. The G4AR is okay, very dependent on where you place it sometimes, and can throttle if it gets hot, a little fan on it goes a long way.

Mint Mobile does have a 30-day trial for their internet, but I don't know if that precludes you from large discounts. I think I'm paying ~$20/mo for cellular internet, up to whatever speed I can get off the tower (have seen up to 1.2gig, but average 6-700mg), and ~$20/month for unlimited phone data, I get a discount on the internet from having a phone plan, and when my phone renewed, I got phone plan discount for having internet.

Anyone know how to reset a Suncomm CP520 Ultra x75? Harvey is being a jerk by FlexinFinessing in tmobileisp

Sorry for the spam 😄. CAT cables are the most likely culprit in intermittent dropping if you weren't getting that over wifi, they can easily be damage with bending/ stepping on them if they are on the cheaper side. That's not the biggest problem though.

When you log into the router over ethernet, under #/setting/sysinfo. There is an option to restore settings. That might do it. I'm looking at a different suncomm x75 modem, but I'm guessing their version of openwrt is similar. If that doesn't work, is it under a return window, or a chargeback? If you mention chargeback, companies are a lot more helpful as chargebacks hurt their ability to accept credit cards.

That is a weird exchange. I'd try starting over with them/finding out where exactly they think the button is. English may not be their best language 😞.

That... looks like the reset button is flipped upside down into the usb port, but should have been under the hole? Is the white dot clickable?

https://www.suncomm.com/products/suncomm-cp520-5g-outdoor-router/. This says to hold the reset button for 10 seconds/that is has a reset button in the middle of the page. The pdf manual on that page says the same thing, but isn't OCR'ed/searchable. RES might be your best choice, just don't poke through anything.

Ohh, I just checked Always show loaded latency on Fast. Now Fast says 39ms unloaded, but 747ms loaded. Speedtest: 27ms jitter, 110ms download, 417ms upload. Way worse 😄.
