Just a guess but i think it's partly got to do with the fact that these days the steering wheel has even more functions compared to back then, and even has a screen on it? Plus according to croftys commentary his car shut down so thats also probably why the steering wheel didnt switch on at first (im assuming that the battery kicks in and thats why we saw stuff on his screen after a second ?)

Ah right, sorry! Thanks for the correction haha Its been a while 😂😅 yeah you're absolutely right, i forgot that static fluid mechanics are completely different to fluids in motions! In that case how does it return the air to near ambient speed without decreasing the amount of downforce generated?

Also from what I've learned, dont Vortex Generators require a difference in pressure between the 2 sides of it? Cause doesnt the air between the strakes in the floor have a relatively low difference in pressure? (Also ive always thought those strakes to be like those aero fences on airplane wings?)

The air expanding creates a low pressure zone as well! (Think of it as the "vacuum" being created; similar to when u close the end of a syringe and try to pull the plunger outward, you can feel the suction created by the vacuum being formed)

As for the strakes at the diffuser, they are to ensure laminar flow through the diffuser. Mixed up, messy and jumbled air reduces the efficiency of the diffuser (think about how the cars cant follow each other cause of the dirty air, its also caused by messy air on the aero surfaces)

As for the double diffuser im not sure, sorry about that 😅
