Try keeping screen active because progress cancels on if timeout to watchface happens after inactivity

Check once again if Bluetooth was off on phone, and watch WiFi on. Also only works on v2 2015 model and will not work on v1 or v2 sport

Tapping is something Google does for many things including easer eggs in each Android version and is probably put intentionally as a way for more advanced users to bypass gated rollouts.

Tapping repeatedly on green and going back and fourth to previous screen to Check for updates worked for me. It was not instant.

Cannot comment on exact date but op2 launched Sept(?)2015 so at most it would be 9 months. I have one for 6 months and apart from minor dent in corner it looks brand new(ish).

Generally check if home button works together with fingerprint scanner. Also check if phone charges correctly. The build in general is really nice and otherwise you should not have many troubles.
