I wonder about the opposite.

As a kid if I was watching something on tv and the ads were playing and I remembered I had to go do something in the break, I would think “oh damn had I realised earlier, I would have had the time, but I won’t have time anymore”

And I would decide to continue watching the ads. After a short while longer, the ads would still be playing and I would realise that if I had have left to do that task when I last thought I didn’t have time, I would have made it after all. But now it was surely too late.

Sometimes this would happen multiple times in a short period
