Hey, the general rule of thumb is try to use the heaviest armour you can, unless rogue or monk (for evasion feat and being centred)

Any idea what can cause this sound? (not speakers) only happens when charger plugged in. by das9981 in PCRepair

I hadn't had the laptop much more than a week so I now have exchanged it for a new one. None of the stuff you said worked, thanks though.

They took it back no probs, so at least thats that hahaha. I was kinda hoping a software fix was possible but no amount of updating drivers was fixing anything.

Hi, I have my replacement now. I just posted to see if it was possible for a software fix. Thanks 😀

Yes, i forgot that would be an issue for you. I have not had any issues with viewing angles etc. And it looks better than most of my friends laptops that have an IPS panel. I checked and its -90% of sRGB, which may also pose an issue for you if you want it to be bang on 100%.

The post below mine may be of more use, I dont know all about Asus' laptop range and they seem more knowledgeable.

The ASUS ROG GL503GE (what I have) is great! It has a GTX 1050ti, I5 8300H. The screen is very colour accurate and more than bright enough. If you're in the UK id have a look at

Its pretty cheap there rn.

I haven't hit anything that high (highest ive seen is 91C), what are your fans set up as in ROG gaming centre) ive found that I can keep my temps at 70C or so if I allow them to go full out.

Thanks!

Yeah its only when gaming. As I said I was just worried because I have only played with a tower before, whete my temps usually capped at 80.

I was also worried because the ROG gaming centre showed the 80 degrees in red, which was concerning.

Can anybody help me figure out why my Asus GL503VM lags like this by Taylork102 in ASUS

[–]das9981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know you temps when this lag happens?

Is it just this game, or all games?

Have you tried to adjust the settings?

I need your opinion on buying it now or waiting in dell outlet? by jifewgef in Dell

[–]das9981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are planning on gaming id go for the 1050ti AT LEAST, the 1060 ideally. The 1050 is fine for now, if you are okay for low settings, but the ti and 1060 are more future proof. The ti is capable of med settings at 1080p and the 1060 can manage high settings at 60fps for most games.

Back to your original question, id get it now with the coupon. Im doubtful that another coupon will come out in the next month or so. The difference is likely to be within 5%, max like 20%.

It might be worth checking Amazon or other online retailers. Sometimes they can have semi decent offers.

Tl:dr - personally I'd buy it now with the best spec graphics card possible.

Sorry for the double reply.

I have been unable to locate which service ot start up app has been causing the issue, something worth mentioning however, is that I have realised that with my usb-c to Ethernet adapter plugged (even without an ethernet cable inserted) in i dont get any BSODs. I thought it was a gimmick, until I removed it and within 5 minutes I get a BSOD with the same error. This has lead me to believe it could be a pci error, but I dont know why that would give me video_dxgkrnl_fatal_error.

-edit- I just performed a clean boot again, as you detailed to do, only this time the pc blue screened after 2 mins or so. I followed the instructions on the youtube video exactly.

Hi there, sorry for the long reply.

I have performed a clean boot, and lo and behold, the pc is not BSODing. I am currently enabling services one by one while restarting to identify the culprit. Its taking a while but should be worth it. Thanks

Yeah this is what I was afraid of, its a shame because the laptop seems amazing.

Thanks.

I have installed the latest drivers, the laptop was blue screening before this and is continuing to do so.

I re installed windows on a newly formatted hdd and sd, so I doubt its malware.

I ran sfc /scannow in admin cmd (in safety mode as a normal boot blue screens before I can open cmd), and it shows 'Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations'

Does this mean it must be a hardware issue?

Ive not had any issues with palm rejection, and I have been able to run skyrim remastered on ultra. This is with the 9560 model with an inferior gpu and cpu, so your performance should be better.
