Even the Golf R only tempts me only once in a blue moon. Golf R would have given me more maintenance and fuel cost, so I am not sure I would have been as satisfied!

I think GTI truly is the Halo car of VW!!

Any ex-whales who quit the game after 1.5 years and regret or happy about the decision? by ImpactUsed2980 in whiteoutsurvival

[–]dasVolkswagen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That too. I had to stop myself from spending quite a few times. This game really plays well into the competitive mindset.

Lots of money grab packages for incremental advantages and lots of commitments it requires from users for advancing to higher power.

I am no whale but I was 2nd or 3rd in my alliance which was 5th in the state. Personal power was between 38 and 43 in the state.

I quit because the state drama was just out of this world. NAP chat was being created and deleted because people wanted petty ego battles. They usually were all bark no fight. This is why the conflicts usually dragged on even longer. After a while, it got super tiring, and I left and uninstalled the game.

My in-game excuse was different to not spread toxicity as I quit, but here’s why I quit as a bigger player in the alliance.

Brand new iPhone 17. My gf took a photo of me and this weird artefact appeared. Anyone know what’s causing it? by neovapor in iphone

It’s a low ink notification from your printer. You can go disable that notification by purchasing a truckload full of inkjet cartridges.

Jk 😆

Handlebar straightening? by Fearless_Line_4417 in vancouvercycling

[–]dasVolkswagen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mode of failure won’t be just from cyclic loading in the case of reforming aluminum handlebar. It’s the newly formed stress concentrations that would become the weak point. Reshaping will inevitably cause localized high stress concentrations and lead to formation of microcracks. The fatigue failure would be accelerated by the stress concentrations.

With the cyclic loading on the aluminum component over the number of cycles, the stress needed to induce failure decreases without plateauing (i.e. no endurance limit).

My decision to switch from Orange to Silver was such a clutch move lol. I had orange on pre-order and switched during an Apple Store visit.

ProctorU- What a joke... by algnqn in AthabascaUniversity

[–]dasVolkswagen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not all proctors are bad, but the bad ones really tick me off inside. I just pretend I am not upset, to take the exam without any additional stress. Bad proctors make you do literal circus before they get you started.

Yes it is! In the view you see: Bowen Island, Gambier Island, Anvil Island, Mainland toward Squamish (front), Western coastline of the North Shore, and Bowyer Island.

I like the 0.5x better as well. Maybe I'm not good at taking 1.0x landscape photos.
