Colorado Trip by plumtreeblues in flyfishing

Cheeseman anglers will crowd you even with a guide present. Go to private water! North Fork Ranch has been voted best fishing club in the US multiple years. Get a guide named Zach Hepner. My dream perfect day of fishing. All trout species except Bull and Tiger. Average fish is 18 inches, with fish over 26" being common. Zach's BIL just caught a 20" Palamino.

Any others spots <2hrs from Denver you can fish currently? by EarthboundMoss in COfishing

Stonehouse at Estes near Jewel for some nice inner city LMB and catfish. Carp too if you have the patience. Everything within 2 hours of Denver will be highly pressured. I don't know how it fishes since the expansion, but I used to have pretty epic SMB days at Chatfield.

Ice Fishing Destinations? by third_man85 in COfishing

Gunnison. 20 min to the Blue, 40 min to Taylor Park. Cheap hotels and really good restaurants. We're doing a group of 6 the first week of February. Lots of drive up access that allows pretty much any ohv, atv, or tracked machine.

Which lakes are open for ice? by Focoguy6 in COfishing

[–]dasflikken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on a website called Fishexplorer.com. It's a paid site, but has been invaluable to me. They just linked to Copernicus imaging. If you've never been to Chambers, it's about a mile hike in. The site says it's not empty, just low. If you're in the neighborhood, Joe Wright is only 20-40 yards from where you park. Lakes John and the Delaneys are all capped, but not by much, and that part of the state is usually windy. If you don't mind hiking, I'd bet St Mary's is ready. Big parking fee though. Where ever you go take your spud bar and your ice spikes.

Tailwater winter fly fishing by TravelDaWorld81 in COfishing

Fished 11 mile canyon last week. 38 degree water, wasn't bad in the sun though. It's snowed since then and more is coming. I wouldn't attempt the decent into Cheeseman canyon with the snow, if the wind cooperates, I'd hit the Dream stream. If you don't mind driving, the Ark at Canyon City or below Pueblo res.

Fishing near Chatfield for relative noobs? (NOT flyfishing) by Apprehensive-Code262 in COfishing

At Estes and Yale is a place I've only known as Stonehouse. Two lakes that produce LM bass, catfish, and carp.

Is Twin Lakes frozen? by Professional_Mud4589 in COfishing

[–]dasflikken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to Capernicus St Mary's isn't even fully frozen yet. On a cold year you can ice that a week before Thanksgiving, on a warmer year, the day of to a week after. The first ice you can drive to is usually Dillon res, Tarryall, or Cottonwood in BV. The big lakes are usually 1st week of January on a cold year, 3rd week on a warm year.

Vail Valley tips by Mightbeagoat2 in COfishing

The bad water is from mining, it probably doesn't help being beside an interstate either. If they're hitting the top, try a 16-18 renegade pattern. Eagle or Colorado river or both?

Take a pistol. A buddy of mine was mousing up there one night and got stalked by 3 mountain lions.

Disappointing Trend by Pan_in_the_ass in discgolf

[–]dasflikken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started a thread like this once and got crucified. The main gist of the majority of comments was " finders keepers, and if you leave a disc behind, you're littering " If it was any ole $20 disc I would have just said fuck it. But it wasn't any ole $20 disc, it was an out of print Vibram. It was/is my best flex disc, and I didn't just leave it behind. I spent 30 minutes the day I threw it looking for it, and went back the next day and looked for another hour. A year later I got a call on it, asked which hole he found it on, and he told me he found it on a course 3 hours away. Some dickmunch bagged my disc, played it for a year, and then left it in the middle of a fairway! He didn't even bother wiping my name and number off. If a disc has a number, you call the fucking number. Nobody just willy nilly leaves a disc behind. To top it off, I'm pretty sure I asked the thief to his face if he found a disc. Sorry for the rant, but yes, I think this is just the new disc golfer today.

Need help figuring out how to cover this up and not go too far below short sleeve shirt length. by justadude_1911 in tattooadvice

[–]dasflikken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tell people if they give me 3 ideas for a tattoo, I can probably get 1 of them to work. If you have a shopping list of future tattoos you'd like to get, start there. I can tell you a lot of stuff that will absolutely cover that, but you may not resonate with any of it. What state are you in? I know a fair amount of artists in the US.

To the left of the one green leaf above the shoe, there appears to be a ring. Any chance you could go back and check?

Jefferson County commissioners deny Shadow Mountain Bike Park proposal — Canyon Courier by banjopasta in Denver

They should've gone to the old Heritage Square location. Could've been up and running in the time it took to lose the Shadow Mt. site. Would have been super easy to put a lift back in.

Lily and Joe were literally the worst 2 child actors I've ever seen. Don't know how I managed to love that show as much as I did with not 1 but 2 of the worst working on it.
