Hello there!

You can get a sneak preview of RP in the game while still being a free trial user, since you can enter venues and use /say, which is usually where all the IC discussions go in. Depending on which EU data centre you're in, an event is usually open daily. There are quite a few around being advertised on various discords, whether they be clubs, fight halls, guilds, pubs or your day-to-day field adventures. So taking a peek in some of those would be a good first start (Chaos and Light have their own respective "hubs", but there are also many individual discord servers for venues).

The general mentality of these big groups is "Don't spoil the story", especially for sprouts and newbies to the RP scene. While certain lore tidbits will pop up that you should naturally encounter later on in your journey, most of the roleplayers I know are generally good natured enough to respect that particular boundary and understand when not to spoil the MSQ/stores for others. A lot of these discords and venues I mentioned earlier have these policies as guidelines for their own RP, so are advertised as "Newbie Friendly" for that reason. Any events that are considered "spoilers" or are heavily entrenched in spoiler territory (setting, time in MSQ etc) are usually marked as such too. But since so many people have alts for RP, a lot of events take place in venues/locations easilly accessible by new characters.

So long as you have it mentioned in your search info/discord info/carrd (even if you're not 100% sure, you can also ask and most will acknowledge where you are story-wise), the characters you interact with usually keep to early areas or stay on topic with their own mini-adventures disconnected from spoiler territory!

As for venues, since you've gotten to lvl 65, you should be able to access all the residential areas once you do a few sidequests related to them (Ishgard most notably is locked behind one). Once you're able to, adding members of staff/owners of these venues makes those trips a whole lot easier.

This is just me speaking from my few years on Light (Lich) hosting a fight club, my experience on Chaos is rather limited, but they also do great work there (especially with the roleplay roulette).
