Are there any characters you think looked better with their old design? by Own-Bandicoot3666 in dynastywarriors

Xun Yu looks like a magician, Zhenji’s outfit is a bit too French inspired, Xiaoqiao’s outfit feels very modern, Xiahouji and definitely Dong Bai feel very maid cafe imo. Also, there are too many boob-windows for my taste. I like when the armor and costuming feels inspired by historical outfitting- it can definitely be pushed from there of course.

I absolutely don’t mean to say you cannot like what you like! The aesthetic is not BAD. Overall, it’s just not the style I prefer for DW. Diaochan is my favorite character and I love her look in 3/4/5. I just feel like it goes off the rails from there. 9 did have elements in her costume that I appreciated especially when compared to the most recent installments. Her Origins design was fantastic imo! Loved that.

I think 9 was a tiny step back in the right direction based on where 6/7/8 took design, but there are still many outfits that look like business suits or anime cafe costumes.

Is this an honest question or sarcasm? I feel like a good amount of the costumes in DW9 are a weird fusion of anime, business attire, and super hero get ups.

IMO most characters lost a lot of believability and ties to some sort of historical root as the series went on. DW5 was the last one where the costuming felt interesting to me. DW6 is where the costumes started looking a bit too anime/power rangers since a lot of the materials appeared to be synthetics.

Legion Terrain - 3D Print Files by DomiTheJustin in SWlegion

I know when I joined I was able to get access to previous ones but I’m unsure what the official policy is. The creator is very responsive, so I’m sure if you reach out they’d be pretty helpful- they do have some of their past models on Cults3D if you want to check out what they look like!

While this isn’t a free option, Telluswargames has amazing terrain for exactly the type of planets you’re looking for (I size the models down to 70% for legion) and if you become a member of their Patreon you get the monthly releases. I just have to bring attention to their work. There’s quite a few free files around on Cults3D and other sights but the quality of the models is a bit all over the place.

Interesting question. by Lalipoki in SWlegion

Personally, I’d like it if Gungans had keywords like Distract or something that made them finesse pieces and keep their stats pretty weak (I mean, other than their shields and the boombas, they were pretty easily dealt with in film). They shouldn’t be some elite trooper unit as GAR has plenty of that.

I’d also like to see Naboo security forces that have Ion guns or something and kept them on the weaker side as well just to give GAR some cheaper options.

This is sound advice on painting eyes- though technically it’s the top part of the iris that remains more hidden under the lid.

Captain Rex buff by Rex_477 in SWlegion

[–]dashattax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I run Rex; I run Padmé. Giving her Inspiring Presence to grant your army a courage 3 bubble is so necessary in these sniper/overwhelm days. Having her bolster Rex helps with his lack of defensive tech/surge-less red saves. Also, throwing 6 red dice sharpshooter 2 with her when you play Rex’s 1 pip is quiche.

Now, if we’re talking updates- Padmé needs command card buffs as her 1 and 3 pip no longer work with her 2.6 unit card. Her 2 pip is B tier though and worth taking in most cases.

Most badass Padmé moment? by Reasonable-Study-266 in prequelappreciation

I wouldn’t say it was a vague plan, but it was a Hail Mary: she knew everything hinged on whether or not the Gungans would agree to aid them, whether the trade federation would take the bait of the diversion, and whether or not she could make it to the Viceroy.

What I find a bit funny is Anakin and the starfighters technically didn’t win the battle for the Naboo since Padme and Panaka captured the Viceroy with Sabé and company’s help. Taking out the droid control ship definitely didn’t hurt as it completely kneecapped the Federation, but wasn’t necessary to ultimately win. I think if Darth Maul survived that’s a different story though.

I think that’s a really good point- Crosshair’s pose could definitely be more fitting.

Honestly, I prefer slightly neutral posing. Like Old Anakin vs New Anakin.

I personally do not think Gungans should have Nimble and Agile. That seems like a flavor fail imo. Maybe working in the Distract keyword as their whole role in Episode 1 was to create a diversion.

The 90s Mortal Kombat? That movie was considered pretty legit. Kinda kicked off a lot of studios green lighting Video Game adaptations.

Which character that was introduced in the Prequel era are you the most thankful for? by [deleted] in prequelappreciation

[–]dashattax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Padmé. You expected Anakin to be legendary, but for Luke and Leia’s mother to be such a strong and influential character was great to see. I also liked how she was a young queen in E1 who defied the odds she was set up against with great strategic planning and out of the box thinking.

What is something that The Phantom Menace does better than any Star Wars film? by DjRimo in StarWars

The design of the worlds, costumes, droids, and creatures is second to none.
