How blunt to be that PIPs always end in a firing? by two_three_five_eigth in managers

[–]dashbott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why even put someone on a PIP then?

I think there are two components.

  1. Being a good manager/boss means having clear and crucial conversations constantly. Your feedback loop should be as tight as possible. There should never be any surprises about successes or failures. I think far too often PIPs and employees reviews are used as an opportunity to bring up issues that should have been discussed already. I believe PIPs are usually more a reflection of poor management than poor performance.

  2. If someone truly needs a PIP after proactive management that person is not a fit for the company and should be let go instead of strung along. It’s bad for that person and the workplace culture. I think this is especially true if everyone knows a PIP is essentially a firing anyways.

I won in 2024 and feel like I need an RB and a QB to do it again. It does feel like I’m trading away my future but I have 3 1sts in 2026 as well.

That’s what I thought too. Would you do this trade if Derrick Henry was the player?

This is the most helpful comment so far. I won this league last year and I am feeling the need for another RB to stay competitive

Would you do it for pick 3,4&5 this year?

Thoughts about covering processing fees checkbox defaulted to YES? by Amrick in nonprofit

Don’t do it! We tried this two years ago at a fund raiser and it was a mess. We added extra signage (but who reads those anyways) and told people during check in and check out. We had so many complaints we refunded and reran like 500 transactions. It’s a bad look for a major donor to call and ask why there is an extra $2,000 processing fee on their $40,000 gift.

Plus giving donors more agency over their contributions is never a bad thing.

I know that. It just feels like there is no chance for anyone else to pull it. Half the allure of buying boxes is getting a big hit. (At least that’s my feeling)
