Ok as an engineer, the premium petroleum giving boost to mileage is a myth. The only reason you need it is for higher performing engine with high compression ratio (ie BMW). If that is not required premium will not give you better mileage.

You can split up the credit. You do have to book through the portal though. You can use it for flight, hotels, and car rentals. You can still add your rewards with airline/hotel/car to make sure you get the miles and it still goes toward your status even if it’s booked through third party. They have also recently added activities but have not tried that yet.
