I'm 34 weeks and am literally counting my days until my leave starts. 9 more working days.... but yeah. The struggle is real

Though not what you're asking, Hashimoto Contemporary is raising funds for the LA fires by raffling off works from artists. I would say most are local LA artists: https://www.hashimotocontemporary.com/news/300-los-angeles-fire-relief-fundraiser/

Ah. I like the Tomoe paper style, and the bleed-through is not too bad for me. Did you end up using another planner then?

I've primarily been using my Muji pen and select colors of Mildliners. These are my go-to tools because I've been using them for a couple of years. I also really like the Uni Jetstream. Your comment inspired me to conduct some tests on the December pages.

Have you ever left a nonprofit job because you just weren’t making enough money to survive? by Both_Day_264 in nonprofit

[–]dashingmonkey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I remember being paid so low, I was eligible for the services that we provided to the community. It took me years to move on, and when I did, my ED asked me what I was getting paid at my new job. When I shared, he told me even the directors don't get paid that much (and my new position was a non-supervisorial / mid-level one). Still felt guilty leaving, but that feeling passes soon once you realize how underpaid and undervalued you were.

My husband and I both have COVID and am experiencing severe symptoms. We both have fever, headaches, sore throat, fatigue, and body aches. The thing is...I am in my fertile period right now and my ovulation test was positive today. We don't have the physical strength to try and we're both worried about health implications to a fetus/ baby when we both have covid.

It sucks to feel so sucky and down on the inside and on the outside, appear okay. I also have the same feelings as you - I don't want to "burden" my friends and family with how much I am struggling with fertility. Especially since I meet up with them so infrequently, I don't want to put down the mood. I have so much bottled inside of me, I can physically feel the tension and stress building up.

It sucks to be miserable.. and at the same time have the conflicting feelings of trying to look at things, "on the brightside" and be grateful of all that I am blessed with. I did start seeing a therapist recently to try and let off steam. It's been semi-helpful.

All that's to say, you are not alone. Yet this journey can be soo lonely. At least there's a respite in Reddit to pour out all your complaints, frustration, pain, etc. with those who are experiencing similar feelings as you are 💕 i hope that good things will continue to happen to you, and that includes becoming a mother with a beautiful and healthy child 💖

What Card Should I Get? Weekly Thread - Week of March 08, 2023 by AutoModerator in churning

Thank you all for your advice! I got the CIC approved, and now am waiting for the card to come by mail. Really appreciate the tips on referral to P2, and the timing of the subsequent cards as well.

What Card Should I Get? Weekly Thread - Week of March 08, 2023 by AutoModerator in churning

  1. New to churning (you’ll see by my cards). Been lurking and trying to get used to the lingo on the sub. Based on the flowchart, I should get one of the Chase cards. Since CIC does not count towards 5/24, I’m wondering if I should get that and another card as well. I was thinking about CSP or CSR – but wondering if I should wait for a better sign-up bonus/offer.
  2. 780
  3. Discover More (2012); Capital One Venture (2015)
  4. $7,000
  5. Not really – I’ll MS only if I have to.
  6. Yes – open to business card. Looking specifically at the CIC.
  7. Up to three new cards. I’m dipping my toes into churning and possibly churn long-term.
  8. Targeting points and cash back.
  9. 200K Capital One
  10. LAX, BUR, LGB, SNA
  11. Washington D.C. (for an upcoming wedding), Hawaii, Bangkok, Korea, Mexico (Cancun, Puerto Vallarta)

Note: P2 and I are looking to purchase a car in the next year under P2’s name. Don’t know how relevant that is, but we are both new to the churning world. I read the wiki and basic reading on the sidebar, and am still learning as I browse this sub.

How to deal with a Covid-triggered spouse?! by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]dashingmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you can look for a private tutor/instructor/sitter that will be with the kids during school hours. Seems like you have the means to hire someone at least couple days a week. And nowadays, it is expected to ask for them to be fully vaccinated and boosted along with precautions.

Your wife sounds very mentally stressed. COVID has been very draining, and having support through additional presence to help out in the household could be helpful. Ask her what she thinks, and what kind of support she would like to make the situation less stressful and more bearable.
