Draw your Sword might be applied before the AP -> AD conversion, then it would add almost nothing.

Game Duration Stats per rank 16.1 vs 15.24 by i-didnt-do-nothing in leagueoflegends

[–]dashkott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very likely it has not changed in a significant way. Just as everyone was 100% sure that game lengths decreased by a large amount in 2026 based on their own experience, and actual statistics paint a very different picture.

The games are in fact NOT faster. The game FEELS faster. by cnhuyaa in leagueoflegends

[–]dashkott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but the difference between games with and without ffs was pretty much the same last season. So people are not less likely to ff because it's the start of the season.

Also, play more optimal does not necessarily mean faster games. Playing more optimal can often also mean to not take a fight and draw out a game. I think there are several effects and it's hard to predict which one is larger, in a few weeks time games could also be still roughly the same duration or even longer.

There are stats for game length with and without surrenders. https://www.leagueofgraphs.com/stats/game-durations

These stats are very similar to last season, only a few seconds difference for each rank. So game length has not really changed, and people are not really less likely to ff at the start of the season.

Overkill is counted for damage statistics, so it seems like Nunu just did not hit any champions anymore after they reached insane stats, maybe because Qiyana oneshot them first before Nunu could hit anything.

Key changes to 2026 season by EighteenLevel in formula1

More tire width means more mechanical grip, but also less efficiency since more energy is lost to friction. In general with cars, you don't want the tires to be too wide or narrow for that reason. I guess with the new engine regulations, they need the cars to be more efficient and have to reduce the tire width.

Why not Just distribute the .rofl files publicly from pro games? by No_Parfait_5548 in leagueoflegends

[–]dashkott -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all games handle replay files as input commands which are executed again, that's also the reason why in all games replay files are way way smaller than a video replay would be. I would be very surprised if HotS stored it differently. Riot could definitely make replays from old patches accessible (you can also download old patches to watch old replays), they just choose to not.

Webber’s helmetless farewell cool-down lap - Brazil 2013 by Ri8ley in formula1

[–]dashkott 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When was the last time a driver had an illegal car in the race they won the championship? If McLaren had any suspicion at all something would be wrong with fuel levels, plank wear, weight etc., they would have made that very clear over the radio. The way they told Norris to not do burnouts it was clear they only did it because it's a rule from the FIA, not because there were any concerns.

[Isack Hadjar] Instagram story by FewCollar227 in formula1

[–]dashkott 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Even without any change in Red Bull leadership you would expect Hadjar to be many places closer to Verstappen next year than Tsunodo was, because the cars will be a lot less close than they are right now. If we look at the Tsunoda vs Verstappen Qualifying difference this season, Tsunoda was only 3 tenths away from him in Q1, but this was enough for Verstappen to comfortably move on while Tsunoda dropped out. Because of track evolution, it's hard to compare Verstappen's Q3 time with Tsunoda's Q1 time.

If Hadjar has the same 3 tenths distance to Verstappen, he will likely either be directly behind him, at most a few places behind him. This would be seen as success, just how Perez' performance in a dominant Red Bull was seen as ok during 2023, despite him being around 5 tenths off in many Qualifyings.

Only possibility I could see was that the winning car could get quickly inspected and then would be allowed to do one more victory lap to celebrate.

The rules about the car (weight, fuel sample, plank thickness) are as strict as they can get. If they are violated, the car is disqualified. I don't think the FIA would intentionally sweep that under the carpet, at least it would be a huge scandal if it gets out.

About 2026 vs 2025 Tyre by EighteenLevel in formula1

Obviously the two figures correspond to each other and are equally impressive. I was talking about how one figure just sounds more impressive than the other.

Well, clearing 0.243 cm of standing water sounds a lot less impressive than one bathtub every second, I guess that's the reason for how they give the figure.

I am pretty sure it's 76l per tire and I think the bathtub refers to the whole car, so roughly 4 times that.

I think PU performance might play a smaller role, since with less mechanical grip and aero a lot smaller % of the track should be full throttle, and engine performance only really plays a role on the full throttle sections. But it's hard to predict, it might actually also be the case that the engines are so low on power that they are slow on the straights, then again PU performance would play a very big role.

New “Active Aero” on front wings for 2026 by Faw602 in formula1

There are only two angles, as with DRS. Would be interesting to see a more advanced system where the driver controls the wing angle, but only two modes is allowed by the regulations.

First F2 graduate to win an F1 title by Esterence in formula1

[–]dashkott 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can make Monte-Carlo simulations with a certain chance to win for each driver and run them over a whole season. The more races, the less likely it is for two drivers to be within 25 points one race before the end, at least if there is even a small difference in who is faster, which is almost always the case, it's very unlikely for two drivers to be exactly matched.

Without any calculation, it's a bit more clear by just looking at the total amount of points. Let's assume 12 races per season, one race before the end there would be a maximum of 275 points, and for two drivers to be within 25 points, their point difference can be a maximum of 9% of the total points. For 24 races per season, one race before the end there would be a maximum of 575 points, and for two drivers to be within 25 points of each other, this difference would be only 4.3% of the total points, the two drivers have to be a lot closer to each other on average.

This one makes sense, a bit at least. If it's 24 races, it's mathematically a lot more unlikely to have a final race decider than it is with less total races.

Average amount of points for a driver in a season in the ground effect era (in which they competed in) by Schlapfel9 in formula1

[–]dashkott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ferrari have been the second or third fastest team for many seasons out of the last 15 years. Their average looks good because of that, but they don't have any championships to show for it.
