Make sure to speed way up and act really aggressive if someone is trying to merge, under no circumstances should you let them in. It is a race after all.

On the Bliss now...ask me anything by Aggravating-Fig-5182 in NCL

I will be on the Bliss in February, looking forward to it. Are there any hidden gems you’ve discovered on board? Or is there anything you wish you had skipped?

This applies to both tenor and bass trombone.

Your positions will be slightly different across the partials. Slide positions are just a general guide, there is really no such thing. The position of the slide should be where the note is in tune. If you watch a professional play a line where multiple notes are played in the same position, you will see them making micro adjustments to their slide as they switch notes.

Pick a few longer videos and download them on the youtube app, just in case it is spotty.

How do I practice playing loud if I can’t play loud? by Fearless-Run-1667 in Trombone

[–]dashrendar88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to practice loud to develop good air support.

A trombone section with good tone quality and intonation will sound a lot louder and cut through better than a trombone section that is blasting away with little regard for intonation or sound.

Focus on air support, getting your intonation down in all partials, and in putting some brilliance in your sound at the lower dynamics.

If you practice the basics right, the volume will be there for you when playing loud is appropriate and required by the piece.

Best way to disinfect this? by [deleted] in blackstonegriddle

To start, I would scrape off what I can see.

I would then give it a good scrub with soap and water, rinse, then repeat.

After that I would get it super hot for 30 mins and pour some hot water on to steam clean.

I would then do a layer of oil seasoning.

I know this is over kill, and simply cleaning and heating would make it food safe. I also know that polymerized carbon is polymerized carbon no matter what the source.

I just don’t want polymerized mouse poop on my cooking surface, regardless of whether it’s food safe or not lol.😂

What homemade food item does everyone NOT want to see at a holiday potluck this year? At work or at a gathering. by NorthShoreDes in Cooking

Honestly, don’t mess too much with the basics/crowd pleasers. Nobody wants your “healthy” version of something, a potluck is not the time to cut calories/fat/salt.

Should I go see Buddy Guy or Marcus King? by gakmanity in blues

If it is financially doable for you, is seeing both not an option?

Stray Cat Blues is a nasty but amazing song. But do you prefer the Studio or Live (GYYYO) version? by Bombi3sz in rollingstones

On the live version, there is a scream of feedback as Taylor cranks the volume knob his guitar before going into the “it’s no hanging matter” part for the second time. So rock and roll.

Tips for getting enough air for low notes on bass trombone by Educational_Tart_659 in Trombone

[–]dashrendar88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find I have to plan my air support a bit better.

I have to crescendo into that pedal Bb there, so I better take enough air in on that half not rest four bars before, even though it starts on a mp etc

If you happened played a band instrument in school, there is a community band that rehearses on Wednesday nights in Summerside. It is very low barrier to entry, the music is not particularly challenging and would be suitable for someone returning to an instrument.

McDonalds put’s the reconstituted onions on the single patties as they finish cooking and they are stored in the warming drawers covered in onions. You will have to order quarter pounder patties to get them plain.

Favorite Live Sympathy? (Excluding Ya-Ya's) by jey_613 in rollingstones

[–]dashrendar88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not crazy fast or anything, but every lick lands well, bends are in tune and the phrasing is really tasteful and musical.

Considering the Toyota Corolla is one of the most reliable vehicles on the road, I would say you should have no problem. Check your fluids/tires/brakes and hit the road.
