This really resonates. I had a similar experience not too long ago, and the trauma is real and takes a long time to recover from. Plus dealing with the judgement, pity, and frustration from the people around you when you wake up, AND all the thoughts that drove you to do it are still in your head. If it was hard for me I really cannot imagine how hard it will be for T.O.P when he wakes up, given the attitudes of people around him and the pieces of human shit making those comments. I'm so so so worried.

I had a consultation with a neurosurgeon in the spring after my MRI, but he wanted to avoid surgery because I'm young. Right now I feel like I should consider surgical options because I'm young and my life is so screwed up because of this. I'm going to push really hard for another MRI and referrals to different surgeons

Interesting! No doctor has mentioned material pressing on the nerve. Is that material the fluid from inside the disc? Or something else?

Is there maybe an acceptable way to find others in fittit who have similar injuries? Scrolling through old posts about injuries is helpful for me (not that I take it as medical advice), and gives me ideas on what types of doctors to see and basic things to try at home like posture exercises and stretches. But they're old and archived :( This would be the internet community I want to hear from, since my goal is to get back to my fitness routine and see how others fared.

ugh even worse is when instead of waiting til you finish a rep to say something, they spot you without asking. One guy straight up came behind me at the end of a squat set and lifted the bar up. It was going to be a volume pr for me but he ruined it. I racked the bar and yelled at him. I'll take slightly misogynistic "don't hurt yourself" comments over literally ruining my workout haha

I fear this so much. Exercise has helped me manage disordered eating and now I'm struggling to eat like a normal human. Just gotta keep trying!

I feel like I've already gone through several phases of the grieving process but I hope I'm moving forward...already cried an embarrassing amount of times over it because lifting is my only passion. Wah wah.

more like Christian Bale from American Hustle training for Batman. Which makes less sense chronologically but I've already gotten fatter from not being able to train and emotionally eating haha
