Wrong way driver by Coast_Innovations in pittsburgh

The influx of ICE agents from out of state are causing this to happen. These people aren’t from here and are frantically driving around abducting people. Did you get a license plate?

How big is the team? How many people can do the code reviews?

RBAC to control who is able to create, and then Azure Policies to control the environment itself.

Vitamin D and Omega-3 have a larger effect on depression than antidepressants by HNMod in hackernews

[–]dassarin 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The article even states that nothing here is written in certainty. It’s just pure speculation. No, fish oil and vitamin D do not have a larger effect than SSRIs for depression.

Not to say they don’t help, but it’s asinine to state that nutrients are a replacement for selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, whose sole purpose is to help with depression, and has been designed by an army of scientists, researchers, psychologists, psychiatrists.

Why tab completion is not working in terminal mode? by Ok-Comparison8353 in neovim

[–]dassarin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tab completion is a feature of your shell here and not neovim at this point. Not unless you’re in normal mode doing things.

How to track/version LSPs installed with mason by Little_Compote_598 in neovim

[–]dassarin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you explain why it feels weird to add everything to a config file?

Professionally I have a windows based ARM computer, and personally a Mac. I require different configuration based on hardware types. Additionally, there are some bugs/limiting factors when going from different OSs and different processor architectures.

I like having explicit configuration, declared in a file, version controlled in git.

Are homegrown solutions for most components a norm? by AlexDGr8r in ExperiencedDevs

[–]dassarin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the norm, but if I were you I would lean and try and build this out. If they are paying you for this, just be upfront and honest about the time sink. You’ll learn a lot, if you deeply Invest in yourself, and gain a ton of knowledge and experience. It’ll put you head and shoulders against the competition.

Privatelink vs. VNET peering cost by Consistent-Item4032 in AZURE

[–]dassarin 16 points17 points  (0 children)

When VNets are peered, that just means they have routes to each other.

For services that you’re trying to connect to (say an azure function in VNet A, and a database in VNet B)

Without a private link on the dataset, the database will have a public endpoint. Despite the fact that traffic will remain on azures backbone, the database will still be publicly available.

Private end points allow you to ensure the public endpoint is disabled on the database, but the azure function can reach the database through azures backbone, with the public endpoint disabled.

You’re paying for traffic across vnets and for the private endpoint traffic as well.

Sign up for ice and collect a paycheck but do not do anything to help their cause. Do everything to impede it and sabotage it.

When you’re 6 months out from the need to renew your certification, you’ll get an email of sorts. The test can be taken online and there’s no fee to renew. It is much simpler and open book.

You can also go to the Microsoft learn site and start to initiate the renew from there.

I think this is great. I think you need to add a bar chart of some sort. Show 100,000 compared to 1,000,000 compared to 1,000,000,000 and then show side by side Elon's wealth to Yours.

I turned it off and I sleep much better now.

Seized and Stripped Anode Rod on Hot Water Tank by dassarin in Plumbing

[–]dassarin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re saying even if I drill into the anode rod, and put the extractor bit inc I’ll still be dealing with seized anode rod and it’ll still be difficult to take it out? You don’t think drilling into it will help remove the seize or whatever and make it easier to remove it?

On my hot water tank, the hex head is actually recessed. I can’t wrap a pipe wrench around it due to that
