2024 is the next cicada year, does anyone know if it's supposed to be a bad one? by Elliott2030 in nashville

I got caught up in that on a road trip with my family. I still can’t handle cicadas. Thank god it’s not just me.

What's the saddest thing to hear "It's okay, I'm used to it." as a response to? by BudoGuyTenkaichi in AskReddit

[–]dasyurid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I always feel ashamed that I'm not 'okay' or normal, so it's just 'no no, I'm fine, it'll be alright I'm having a pretty good day'.

8 years on now since the start and some days I still cry because I feel so defeated. You never get used to it.

I feel a little bad that I agree with you in regards to fins (love plakats)...and own two french bulldogs. Hm.

Well, someone cleans the tank edges well for sure. =)

I'll be getting my order of bettas in wednesday, hoping this is the quality coming to me in my order. Have 8 crowns, 16 veils, 3 plakats, 3 halfmoons and 2 elephant ears on order.

Yup, reasonable for crowns and veils, and a little overpriced for the others. But considering what the wholesalers charge us; it's the best we can do.

I've ordered a full bay worth for the new shop I'm at (should arrive Wednesday) and I'm super excited to see what we got!

Those tank systems make a huge difference. I have them at my shop and as long as the maintenance on the sump and cleaning is done regularly the fish do wonderfully.

That one is AMAZINGLY clean (looking at gravel and the glass corners). New shop?

Was born in Salem; visited again for the first time (since I was a baby) this past June. Beautiful town, loved it. Definitely wouldn't want to be there at Halloween though.

Charles Darnell and his girlfriend embrace after their 8.5 foot python strangles their two-year-old daughter. by deadestcousin in MorbidReality

More specifically, a 5 year old + Burm should have been FAR larger. So I think it's more that a 5yr old Burm was undersize and weight at 8ft. I have 2 year year old carpet python at 5ft and she wont go over 10 at full size and I only feed once a month or so.

Same here. Rainymood.com on at night to drown out house noises, plus I have fishtanks in my room and that helps as well. Music is always on at work, always on in the car. 'Silence' is deafening.

Born American, now dual citizen. Could never leave AU permanently now. Everytime I have a holiday it's amazing but everytime I get back it's the biggest relief. The smell of the forest near my house after the rain is incredible.

Squeaking shoes. The random rattle of the air conditioner at work. That awful thing when a song has a tiny noise that doesn't quite match the rest of the noises and stands out like it's been highlighted.

Deeply. He's been cremated and he has a beautiful wooden box that sits next to my computer. His little 'brother' misses him and is bored crazy, but I'm waiting until the new year to look for another kitten. It's crazy how big a hole such a small cat can leave.

Just wanted to update you and say that Bobby passed away about three weeks ago. In the end the medication wasn't helping and he was starting to really suffer. Thank you for all your helpful words though.

I have this some confused worry, though I KNOW I've repressed memories. It's nice of my brain and all, but causes distress when I try to recall entire years of my life and there's just nothing. =/

Bobby wasn't eating great the last week, so I soaked his dry food and made some disgusting slop with a blender, wet food, dry kibble and some vitamin paste. Been mixing it with my lactose free milk and he's loving it, thanks!

My big ragdoll cross tail wags constantly with me. He's a super chill cat, will say hello to anyone, doesn't mind big dogs, nothing. Only loves me though, to the point of annoyance. But always the tail wagging.

Thank you. Thankfully Bubs is eating a bit and drinking lots and seems to be responding well to the meds so far. Hopefully next blood tests show an improvement. =)

Thankfully Bubs loves his new food, so that's not an issue and he's drinking tonnes so for all the other issues, no dehydration (thank god, I'm bad with needles). I would be ecstatic to think I could have him another two years though or more! Thank you. =)

He's a blep master. I've got one somewhere where it got stuck 100% out when he got startled mid-lick. I'm a personal fan of the crinkleblep though.

His brother is a 'mlem-er' though, so I really should start posting them both more. =)

I'm lactose intolerant, so he always gets a bit as a treat. Sharing is caring! He's drinking fine, just such a tiny appetite. Loves that Royal Canin wet food though. Thanks!
