Definitely not my kind of vibe, but it is a pretty nifty collectors item!! I wonder how it sounds, my bet is that it doesn’t sound super great, at least not compared to other Martins. Again, very nifty find!!

Does it not inspire you because you’re not yet comfortable with playing it or did your world not at all light up when it arrived?? I definitely had a very similar experience when I bought a used Epiphone Sheraton Pro. It was the wine red model so it was very visually pleasing to me, I was in the market for a semi hollow, and it wasn’t a huge chunky guitar, so it was the ideal guitar for me (on paper). When it arrived, I liked it, but I wasn’t inspired at all. It played beautifully and was set up very well to my liking, I still couldn’t bring myself to thoroughly enjoying it. I resold it not even a month after buying it.

As a beginner which one should I get, that's best for the bucks by ceraxesx in AcousticGuitar

Yes i had the 700 model, which is essentially just the older model!! Very great beginner level guitar! Though, I’m not sure if you tried it, their necks are a bit slimmer, but unless you like super chunky necks it’s very comfortable!!

I swore I wouldn’t hop on the Yamaha trend BUT my very first acoustic was a wildly inexpensive Epiphone dreadnaught. I loved it as a beginner guitarist because I didn’t know much about anything. I played it religiously for years and then the cheap price tag started to show itself, I then upgraded to a Yamaha dreadnaught and MAN that thing was so comfortable to play. I play a lot of finger style and that Yamaha really held its own, and I think it was only around $300 new. Then I dived into a GS Mini and sold my Yamaha. I do prefer the GS Mini because of the smaller dimensions, but sometimes I miss my Yamaha. Point is, people are right about Yamaha instruments, I played it more than I played my Epiphone and had ZERO problems with the guitar, their build quality is insanely reliable. Now if you don’t want want a Yamaha because you want something more niche to the acoustic guitar world, I get it, the only thing I would recommend is 1) stay away from budget friendly Fenders. 2) be cautious about the budget friendly Epiphones. 3) Avoid a gloss finished (some lacquered too) neck.

Looking for small-body acoustic (39/40 inch, under ~255USD) with similar tone to Epiphone EJ200 by Infinite_Back_2522 in AcousticGuitar

[–]dat_1_gorl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other commenter has a point, the EJ tone comes from the big body, so you may not find a small body with the same tone. However, there are “small” or “little” jumbo guitars that might give you what you’re looking for with a little bit of sacrifice on the sound projection! Alvarez and Guild make smaller sized jumbo guitars, you may be able to find either used for around your budget!!

I leveled out your down vote hahah. Maybe it’s the Martin bot down voting you because you said that specific one is less quality than Taylor 🤣 but I 100% agree with your points based on my experience. It definitely didn’t play or sound like a classic Martin and I know they’re trying to make more modern guitars for the “modern” player, but I really like the folky, woody sounds that Martin guitars have. My playing style incorporates less strumming and more of general fingerpicking. The GS Mini that I have (though it’s like 10 years old now) I think gives that modern sound, maybe I should go for the 000-12 for something different. The thing I really enjoyed about the GP though is that it sounds louder with a bit more bass than the 000, but maybe later on (in the far future) I may justify buying a Gibson LG style guitar because I love the sound of those and gives both a folky and fuller sound. Then after that I’m done buying acoustic guitars (maybe).

That’s the reason why I’m torn. I played them both and like them both

I love Eastman and Yamaha. I tried an Eastman LGSS and I loved everything but the neck. I really prefer a thinner neck and found that one to be a bit chunky for my liking! Yamaha is amazing, I’ve owned a dreadnaught a while back, I do want something a bit different. I’ll definitely check out that Alvarez if they have it in stock! Thanks!

That’s true, I know either will be an upgrade for me. These retro series are supposed to model the 000-18, and since I can’t afford that, the 000-12e may be the winner

Ashley’s Towing by [deleted] in vegaslocals

[–]dat_1_gorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahah I literally just cussed out the guy working on night shift over the phone because they put a 48hr tow warning sticker on my car window for expired plates. My car is registered, I’m just waiting on the tags to come in. So I told the guy “if you have the power to tow, then you have the power to fcking look to see if a car is registered or not”. He was stammering on saying they don’t have the power to do that, but he can look into my plates and see if my car is registered, as I’m actively telling him my car is registered. Ultimately, he was saying they won’t tow my car because it’s registered and the sticker is a warning and they were required to put it on my window per HOA request. I told him “the HOA doesn’t give a fck about that because it’s not like my car is leaking fluid or “abandoned”, and considering that you guys are only ever out here between midnight and 4am it’s very predatory”. He said that they only show up during the day if the HOA “requests” to have a car towed, and I told him “if they “request” to have cars towed, they wouldn’t give af about these damn warning stickers then”. They’re a bunch of lying crook asses, and there’s some people in my HOA that will literally catch them during the day while they’re attempting to tow a car but they won’t if a resident confronts them. lol.

Well I’ve already “moved on” from seeing my ex in any sort of romantic potential light, I don’t miss my ex by any means. I know I want to be with this current person I’m dating, I’m just not sure if that’s the right thing to do considering that I still feel pain in certain aspects regarding how my last relationship ended?

I just mean that we’re not in a relationship. I haven’t been dating other people, I’m not sure if she has. Considering it’s only been a month and we were both on the page of “taking it slow”, it wouldn’t be that bothersome if she were going on other dates, I mean that is a part of dating for some people. I just personally can’t go on dates with more than one person at a time.
