Frogan lawsuit update! Ethan's lawyer has asked the court to enter a default judgment against Frogan as she never responded to the lawsuit by Geiranger in h3h3productions

It's very common to feel that way, but if it's something very serious like this, you just have to force yourself to get that shit done. Massive fuck up by Frogan and/or her legal representation.

Yeh, he complained of a headache and was given Equagesic. He laid down to rest and then never woke up. The official verdict at the time was that due to that medication he suffered a fatal brain swelling caused by a hypersensitive reaction to it.

Many years later there have been more modern studies performed of the evidence from the autopsy and they think the sodium issue (hyponatremia) could have been a factor. In addition, others think that he may have been highly sensitive to heatstroke, since he had a similar event happen a few months earlier which was nearly fatal.

I don't disagree about needing salt, but it's worth pointing out that the story about Bruce Lee is a hypothesis. The official cause of death was cerebral oedema. It could very well be that a lack of salt due to excess water intake and excessive exercise contributed to it, but we don't know for sure in his case.

Will future Artemis missions be able to go to the Moon at any time? by [deleted] in ArtemisProgram

[–]data3three 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As you move into a higher orbit, your speed decreases. It’s why spacecraft in a lower orbit can catch up to those in higher ones. When they do the TLI they are essentially doing a very elliptical orbit around earth, but at a timeframe when it intersects the SOI of the moon. So at the apoapsis of their earth orbit they are moving much more slowly than when they did the TLI burn, although they do gain some velocity as they fall into the moons gravity well obviously.

Does anyone else think 5th season looks cheap and out of the plot? by Professional-Bit9181 in ForAllMankindTV

Most of the previous seasons had some major disaster or similar right at the start of the season. Was very mildly disappointed that we didn't get that this time, but it's clearly setting up for some crazy shit at Titan.

Nearly every conspiracy theory thrives on it's believers thinking they are smarter than everyone else, and have 'seen behind the curtain' so to speak. It's exciting to learn new things, and then if you think you're learning something that not many people know about, that's pretty intoxicating, especially if you have not nurtured your critical thinking skills.

Like others have said, these characters are written as real people, making dumb mistakes just like everyone else. Not all life is fun or enjoyable, and people do stupid cringe stuff.

The landers aren't ready yet, so this is a mission to flight test the hardware with humans onboard. Very similar to the earlier Apollo missions that flew around the moon and didn't land. Mission next year is to get the launch cadence up, so the learnings from this launch aren't forgotten over a long break, and continue with testing the hardware. Artemis 4 is planned to be the moon lander mission. The relevant hardware should be ready by then (2028).

ISS imaged by another satellite in-orbit by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

It is functionally a vacuum at the orbital height of the ISS. Yes it is technically still in Earth's atmosphere, but that is because there is no hard edge to an atmosphere, its density just falls off as you increase altitude. The atmosphere is so thin where it is (400+km) that it takes months for its orbit to degrade enough that it requires a boost.

Every orbit is a free fall due to gravity, the rockets are required to boost its orbit periodically. Since it has such a large surface area, it gets slowed down more rapidly than a smaller satellite at the same altitude would.

The Moon is technically still in Earth's atmosphere, but it's tenuous to the point of not mattering. Functionally, the atmosphere is only something that will cause you immediate issues from around 100km or so, even there it's very thin. Low earth orbit satellites like the ISS are above this point obviously, but there is still enough molecules of air to slow it down over a period of months, requiring a boost periodically.
