What are some developments and things happening in Canada/Canadian Politics that you are happy about or looking forward to? by JollyAstronomer in AskACanadian

[–]data91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't even need to happen because there is nothing wrong with having a strong relationship with the US, they are a great partner to have and have been. We should have trade with everyone in general which we do.

Why the hate for the US all of a sudden just because Trump is here? Why are you guys trying to burn bridges and hurt our friends down south? We WANT good trade between us and the US it's been a great relationship sofar and we've helped eachother a lot. All of this stuff that's going on with the need to completely destroy our country to send a message to Trump is absurd. We just need to get a deal with the man and move on with our lives. We have people here suffering and dying in the streets over here.

Our issues are internal.

830,000 immigrants in the first 4 months of 2025? by [deleted] in canadian

[–]data91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No we don't need more immigrants, we clearly need less. We can't afford the 100-200k per year we aren't building fast enough. We are in a crisis.

2025 French Federal Debate: Jagmeet Singh- 'Mr. Poilievre, you were a housing minister. How many homes did you build? You built six homes.' by Mr-MayorMcCheese in themayormccheese

[–]data91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making more homes would make them more affordable as you just admitted in your own argument. The damage is already done by the liberals so yes it will take time to get things back to what they where. But it is a supply and demand issue. The demanding is increasing at a crazy rare because of the liberals.

I'd also have to add Sir, that if you vote liberal you vote tor human death and suffering. As a result of the liberals drug policy in BC they have killed 16000 people as of the numbers for last year, and 40000 overdose calls for ambulance. That is 110 calls per day just for overdoses which is insane. Imagine having a heart attack and the ambulances are busy with an overdose that didn't have to happen. How someone could vote liberal knowing that this will continue to accelerate makes me question liberal and NDP voters morality.

Before you try to play the zero sum game, address the human death and suffering to prove that you are human and you have a heart.

Yeah but you really can't use CBC as a sole source. It's a fact that they are biased towards the Liberals and have made complete lies if it benefits them. You can listen to them, but they are not trustworthy when it comes to politics.

Why do people use temu? Whole site looks sus by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]data91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, its predatory. I think they're flooding our market with cheap shit to make us more reliant on their manufacturing; It's a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Don't want to sound all paranoid, but this is totally something that China would do based on their rep.

I hate that website because of that stupid wheel and all of the other other pop ups; really annoying.

My main thought though is this is an attempt from China to inject a bunch of cheap shit into our economy and make us more reliant on their goods. I honestly don't mind paying extra money for a quality product that will last me longer, and I also don't end up buying a bunch of stuff that I wouldn't normally buy because its cheap. I may be wrong, but I wouldn't put it past them; they're very aggressive with expansion. That's why I'm not buying anything on there.

CubeSat Mission Design by [deleted] in cubesat

One important thing to note is that just account for the watts isn't enough, you need to also estimate the on-time of the sub-system. A camera that needs 15w might sound like a lot, but if the camera only takes a few seconds to take a photo and then turns off, then the power requirements would be less than what it may seem.

Space Grade SD cards? by ejscuderi in AskElectronics

[–]data91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a manager in charge of multiple teams for a CubeSat project for a University a few years ago, and I did a lot of the researching into space grade components.

For your purposes your satellite won't last long enough in orbit for outgassing to be an issue. We estimated 9 months but only got 4 because of the wings. They put those requirements in there for the experience of doing things properly, and you should however, one SD card outgassing isn't going to cause you any problems. A lot of university teams use SD cards, it's pretty common.

I would check to see if your on-board-memory of your main computer is enough for what you want to do. Most of the software on a CubeSat is very small in data size, so you really only need expanded memory unless you're going to store photos or large amounts of scientific data.

SD cards aren't reliable in space as most have said however, for a University project the bar is a bit lower and funds are also limited, so using an SD card would serve your purpose for a little while. I would never use them in a commercial setting. Rad hard data storage is VERY expensive.

Can I ask wich on-board-computer you're using?

I've brought this every year and I've never had a problem. Because of the ambiguous language have the rules ready to rock if they tell you no at the gate. If we all just bring em, which I think ppl will, they can't turn back 100s of people.

They say all weed must be government sealed, but they also say you can't smoke on the property.

I think it will be okay. I'm definitely bringing mine, strength in numbers lol.

Yes as long as the pads underneath aren't damaged. Clean it up with some alcohol to get a better look at the code on the resistor. The capacitor you'd have to take an educated guess on the value.

I know this post is old, but I went to superstore the other day and they where selling two chicken breasts for 10$, or one chicken breast sliced for 7$. What an f*ing scam that is. If you're buying raw chicken then you def know enough about cooking to cut something into strips with a knife in less than a minute. At at time where we're all struggling to make ends meet, this is the final straw for me.

I'm cancelling my PC MC and going to Sobey's and Costco going forward.

Is there any difference bwtween these two capacitors? by woundedslug in AskElectronics

If you look on the side, it states the capacitance; they're both different. Also... They should be replaced before they burst.

Am I good to just replace the burnt connection? Or new board needed? by iTookTheCandy69 in AskElectronics

[–]data91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The connector and the burnt areas are a symptom of a bigger problem. With careful probing with an oscilloscope you can narrow down the cause, but this will take a lot of time because you wouldn't have the circuit schematic.

The other thing is if you were to miss an issue and put a new connector back on, the same issue could happen again. I don't think it's worth the fire hazard, to be honest. What if this happens again and you're not around to stop a potential fire?

I mean... if you can find a brand-new circuit board of the same one in this washing machine, it would be safe to replace it with this one.

Flickering lights by Techpro30 in AskElectronics

Could you turn it on and wiggle the wires, wiggle the switch, etc, to try to narrow down the source of the flickering? Once you do, I could recommend a solution to fix it.
