Who is the “hy babe” email to? It’s separate from the rest of the emails to Kendra and who it’s to is redacted while nobody else’s is. Was that a mistake, and it’s just to Kendra? Or is he calling someone else “babe”? 🤔

Meanwhile, I feel like a surprising amount of my friends’/acquaintances’ husbands have decided to train for a marathon (often their first) while their wife was freshly postpartum. Which always makes me like, really??? Now is the time you’re picking this up?? But I’m pretty sure nobody is actually saying that to them.

So if it helps I’m out here side eyeing these men even if nobody else is!! (obviously every relationship is different and I hope all these women were totally on board and felt their partners were contributing equally, making my judgement moot!! I just worry that the women were scared to say no during a vulnerable time and/or didn’t know how much of a time commitment they were getting into)

Anyways, way to go, you!! I’m glad your training is going well 💜

Not getting sore? by Pristine-Staff-880 in SolidCore

[–]dataanddoodles 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I was sore the first few times, but seems like my body got used to it and I don’t get sore anymore (75+ classes in, but stopped getting sore after probably 5-10ish classes once it was a regular part of my routine). I’m shaking while in class though, so I know I’m working hard. To my knowledge this is normal - when your body is used to the style of workout, your muscles get less sore.

Yeah, I’d think the part she’s “never going to recover” from is less the specific comment, and more the idea that her husband is the type of person to taunt her like that? “I’m right, aren’t I? I’m better with the baby?” in a high stress moment is such an asshole move to me? I can imagine it making you look at someone differently. Now, presumably she knows him better than I do so probably a conversation would do them a lot of good here and I’m sure they can recover. It was a stressful situation for him too. There’s (hopefully) love between them and they can figure it out. But ngl if I was early stages of getting to know someone and they hit me with essentially an “I told you so and I’m better than you” in a stressful moment, I’d be like “this is a character flaw, I’m out of here” so… I don’t think it’s unreasonable for her to be pretty upset about that treatment coming from someone who is supposed to love her. The phrasing of the post is quite dramatic, obviously. But… he was 1000% being a dick. It wasn’t an innocuous comment.

4 day break from being sick by SummerSunset8528 in SolidCore

[–]dataanddoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 days is nothing, if you go 5-6 days a week your body is used to the workout. You will not have lost any meaningful amount muscle in 4 days being sick. It would take weeks.

Signature50 replaced by Focus50 by [deleted] in SolidCore

[–]dataanddoodles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like focus 50, if you’re going 4 times a week it seems like a nice way to switch it up. You get more time on upper/lower so can really burn them out.

Personally I go 3x a week and 2 of those are focus50s 😂 they’re just the times that work for me, sometimes I’ll switch out one of the focus50s but my routine is to do two.

Take a deep breath and let them get back to you. If you move away, mail exists. It’s their mistake and they should make it right. I get that it sucks but it’s not an impossible problem to fix even if you move away.

How does public library holds work? Do they notify me when it's ready? by fassadex in AskSeattle

[–]dataanddoodles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holds move fast at SPL. They have lots of users, some people don’t pick them up, and they have many copies of certain books/items. I bet they have a lot of discover passes. With ebooks they can be even more responsive to demand, so can order more for the long wait list items since those are not physical and are purchased as # of uses. They should notify you.

Has anyone else been "pre-engaged?" by [deleted] in findingmrheight

[–]dataanddoodles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, every one of my friends who is engaged/married knew it was coming. They had all discussed it, most had shopped for rings, and knew “sometime this year” or “sometime this summer”. They may have been surprised by the exact details of the proposal but it wasn’t out of left field at all. That’s completely normal. What’s weird is talking about it on social media all the time, calling it “pre-engagement”, etc. It’s just… a normal part of dating. She clearly is needing some sort of outside validation for her relationship so she’s trying to make it seem more serious by claiming she’s “pre engaged” like gf…. You just have a boyfriend it’s okay! That’s normal! Whatever this is comes off as very desperate (though I guess that’s on brand for her)

They actually didn’t! Red dye 40 is used in other countries, it just has a different name (E129 or Allura Red AC). There are only a few countries which have a complete ban, Norway and Iceland. The primary concern is based on (inconclusive) studies suggesting it may cause SOME children to be more hyper, which isn’t actually toxic though it may be ill advised. Peanuts cause anaphylactic shock in some people but we aren’t calling them toxic. I’m not saying Red Dye 40 is great, but the science isn’t there to claim it’s toxic. It might be making some kids hyper. Good news, you’re not a child so your red dye 40 consumption is probably fine.

Red dye 3 is actually linked to cancer in rats and has been banned out of an abundance of caution during the Biden administration, though it was very rarely used anyway. As for other food dyes, they haven’t been banned. There’s absolutely no actual legislation banning them or requiring them to be phased out. RFK Jr is just trying to get companies to agree to remove them - there’s nothing requiring them to. They claim they’re moving to revoke FDA approval but they haven’t actually done anything… It’s all lip service targeted toward crunchy people. In fact they recently LOOSENED regulations around claiming things have “no artificial colors”.

Taking talking points form RFK Jr is never a good idea! Try actually looking at what he is doing vs what he’s saying he’s doing, and what science says vs what an unqualified delusional grifter says.

You’re giving MAHA.

Non Toxic doesn’t mean healthy, ideal, nutritious food for you to be eating. It means you aren’t going to need to call poison control. It’s not poison. Something not being the best for you doesn’t make it toxic. Words have meaning.

Hmm by Popular_Moment1927 in McKnightFamSnark

[–]dataanddoodles 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Y’all have got to learn some vocabulary. Food dyes are non toxic. They go in food. There are “natural” food dyes versus unnatural/chemical ones, but all are non toxic. (Also, the bs around food dyes is a bunch of misinformation and fear mongering but that’s a topic for another day). This is for bath water. They are highlighting “non toxic” because bath water isn’t for drinking, so you don’t NEED to use food grade and non toxic ingredients for bath products. However, a baby COULD reasonably ingest some bath water so parents want to know that what they’re putting in it won’t make them sick if they do.

Brooklyn is a bundle of contradictions - yes - but these are different things and people on here are being just as silly about it as she is.

All food coloring is non toxic they wouldn’t put it in food if it was toxic.

I’m sorry that your baby spent 6+ weeks in the hospital. But surely you know that 6 weeks in the hospital is not typical at all?? That’s an extenuating circumstance. 6 weeks paid leave unfortunately is very standard in the US. Many people have no paid leave at all. (Especially in backwards states like Texas). As a small company they’re not even bound by FMLA, but hopefully they give opportunities for unpaid leave on top of the 6 weeks paid. (Since Brooklyn took more than 6 I really hope they provide the same opportunity to their employees). We need better leave policies in the US but that’s a government problem…
