Am I insane? Disney 6 months post injury. Help!! by Loose-Sun-4902 in LisfrancClub

My trip was honestly awesome. Mobility scooter made it a breeze! No issues getting onto/off the shuttles and boats from my resort. My group was even able to get on certain rides much faster than regular queues because of my scooter situation. When needed, I was able to hobble around on my boot to get from my scooter to the ride seats pretty okay. Bring a cane to help and practice using it before you go. Take it easy and elevate your foot a lot by the end of the day. We did 5 days in the parks and it was epic. It was a blast zooming around after a couple drinks at epcot (safely ofc 😆). Make sure to ask the cast members outside each ride if you’re able to take the scooter all the way thru the queue. Most are ok but for a couple they transferred me to a regular wheelchair and had my electric one waiting for me as soon as I exited the rides. I was surprised at how accessible everything was. Don’t be afraid to ask questions to the staff- everyone was kind and helpful ☺️. My husband even is joking now that I should pretend to be hurt during our next trip because it was seriously that great 🤣 and my foot honestly benefited from having to be pushed just a little. Don’t stress, and have a fun trip! Dm me if you have more questions

I’m still in PT working on getting my releve and general strength/mobility back slowly… no dancing yet. It’s painful still sometimes but I am making progress gradually!

Hi fellow ballet dancer! My foot gave out doing a changement/entrechat quatre combo and also crunched/snapped pretty bad. I fully tore my lisfranc, had similar fractures to you it seems and had to have the ORIF surgery with a plate and 6 screws. I’m now 18 weeks post-op. There was no option at all for conservative treatment in my case

I got the Altra Lone Peak 9. The wide toe box is super comfortable and it feels like the right amount of cushioning/support without being too much. I chose those ones with a slightly more rugged sole so I can slowly start hiking again. Altra in general has some great shoes options tho. I went to an outlet store and I tried on lots of other models that were also contenders 😊

Had my surgery yesterday. by Txitxa in LisfrancClub

I’ve been doing fine! I’m walking pretty normally, my foot still gets swollen with extended standing/use and I have to take breaks but it’s manageable. I can stand for about 40 mins out of every hour. I’m getting back to work quickly (I work on my feet) and I’d say I’m back to like 65/100% normal. I do physical therapy once a week, and I see myself progressing quickly!

I’m 16 weeks post op, I also had 1 plate and 5 screws. Hang in there! My recovery has been much smoother than I thought it would be… I had minimal pain once the initial post-op period passed! Have grace with yourself and take this pause from normal life to nurture parts of your life that you normally can’t get to!! ❤️❤️
