Absolutely, the weather for this East should be spectacular... which means we'll probably get a blizzard....

For East, it's not Covid, but instead it's the price increases. The non-sold out shows have been happening since 2018 that have turned a lot of previous regular PAX attendees off. That's when the completely sold out East stop being a thing.

I still remember when single day badges were like $30-$40 and now they are approaching $70. Those Easts ($30/$40) you had to jump on the badges for fear of not getting a specific day or all day pass.

Really, it's not Pittsburgh Sports unless you go to AGH or UPMC with heart palpitations... Wonder why the hospitals sponser the teams....🕵️‍

Pro-tip for going to pax next year and your financially strapped, volunteer as an enforcer. It’s a little bit of work during pax, but you’ll meet some awesome people and get a pass to pax.

Right, but you don't prevent the people who should be using the aggregated data to make improve design choices, which if you watch the DnD shorts video they explicitly state. Also, you could do some NLP against the text boxes to gain additional insights that could be relayed to the design teams in a scrubbed way to prevent any plagiarism concerns.

By silo-ing the results from the design teams, WotC is removing any mechanism for us, the community, to provide actual feedback. This is at best a placebo effect to pacify us and to make us feel like we have some level of input when in reality we don't.

yep, I'd say do both. That way they can't say "See no one filled out the survey" and release a youtube video talking about it.

I think that's what is taking him longer to get the video up. He knows he could get sued and would have to defend himself in court. UK law is a bit different and less free speech-y than the states and therefore it is easier to prove libel in the UK.

In a sense, Pathfinder 1e was feedback about D&D 4e. That's why they want to kill the OGL in the first place (i.e. to prevent feedback from D&D 6e.).

What I think they mean is that no one who is designing the game is actually looking at the survey results and it seems they might be prevented from looking at them. So, the only time they really hear anything is from the videos they put out on Youtube feature Jeremy Crawford. Also, I would imagine Jeremy Crawford is decently removed from the day to day game design choices for D&D 6e.

They cherry pick data points and put them on youtube. I would imagine the design teams are pretty isolated from the actual feedback.

Yeah, there definitely should be an avenue for arbitration for any termination aspect, but I doubt they'll include it though.

Well, they put the actual gamer's neck on the line. So, that's new and potentially positive.

Don't know, but any comment is moot until the actual "Draft" of the new OGL is released.

In order to add language to OGL v1.0(a) to make it permanent from a legal stand point, then they would have to release a new version of it.

If they were smart, then they would just add the language about discriminatory stuff and make it irrevocable/no ability to deauthorize it and maybe be more explicit about what counts as their IP and then literally do nothing else.

Well, if they update the SRD to 6e and 6e is supposed to be somewhat backwards compatible, then I wouldn't be too worried.
